The Opening plaque was later revealed on the railing alongside Mediterranean Harbor. Later exploration revealed another plaque that was conspicuously missing from the Grand Opening speech. Alongside the Aquasphere, Michael Eisner had insisted on the placement of a bronze plaque dedicated to the life and achievement of his dear and late friend and fellow cast member, Frank Wells. If you visit the park, please take a few seconds to locate the plaque as Frank Wells is as equally responsible for the massive expansion of the Walt Disney theme parks as any other man. We have him to thank for the massive investment in the Resorts division from his appointment with Michael Eisner in 1984 to his untimely death.
