As with most nature docs in this post-An Inconvenient Truth age, there is an eco-friendly tone to the whole production, yet it is mostly implied rather than preached. Oceans instead focuses more on the plight of endangered species over a relentless go green message.

One side benefit of Oceans for Disney fans is seeing just how right Pixar got it with Finding Nemo. Theres even cameos by a Dory and a Nemo.

Thanks to the state-of-the-art high definition photography of the film itself, the Oceans Blu-ray makes for an excellent way for you to show off your own high tech home entertainment system. Youll feel like you are swimming with the sharks just like the divers in the film.

Blu-ray features include an interactive Earth map with video clips on the making of Oceans, as well as an optional viewing experience with filmmaker annotations. These pop up on the screen as both picture-in-picture videos and text, enhancing the film with even further educational insights.

Other bonus features include the featurette Disney and Nature: Caring for the World We Share, which spotlights the Disney Companys conservation efforts from Walts time to today, and a music video of the Oceans end title song, Make a Wave, performed by Disney tween stars Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato (think bad 80s pop power ballad).

Also included are previews of two other DisneyNature titles: The Crimson Wing: Mystery of the Flamingos, also making its debut on Disney DVD and Blu-ray this week, and African Cats, which will premiere in theaters on Earth Day, 2011.
