FX Renews “American Horror Story” for 10th Season Ahead of 8th Season Premiere

FX has announced it’s renewing its hit anthology series American Horror Story for yet another season — the show’s 10th.

  • As Deadline reports, American Horror Story has had a 10th season greenlit by the cable channel.
  • This follows a previous two-season renewal for seasons 8 and 9.
  • That 8th season, titled Apocalypse, is set to premiere on September 12th.
  • Speaking to Deadline about the renewal, FX Networks CEO John Landgraf said, “[Executive Producer Ryan Murphy] asked for a 10th season of American Horror Story which we were happy to give to him.”
  • The 10th season pick-up is notable as it will likely mean that the series will continue airing through Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox assets that includes the network (this assuming all goes well, of course).
  • It should also be noted that, while Ryan Murphy has exited his overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television to head over to Netflix, the producer extraordinaire is still involved with his various current projects at FX.
