Oh September 23rd Disney’s Animal Kingdom celebrated “things that are gray and wrinkly,” as a Cast member put it, meaning elephants and rhinos!

The Cast Members at Rafaki’s Planet Watch always do a great job of introducing conservation and animal care to everyone big and small and this day was no different from the rest!

This day, as with the past, focused on different aspects of these beautiful animals, ranging from the ones in our “backyard” at the parks…

…to fun games to learn more about them and why they are so important to the life on this planet.

While not able to have one up close and personal, we weretaught about taking care of these gentle (well most of the time anyway) giants.

But by far one of the most fun parts of the day is always the interactive challenge they set up, which was trying to be a elephant using his trunk to eat.

Of course no visit to a animal day would be complete without learning about the byproducts that can come from those animals!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom does an amazing job introducing both kids and adults to the animals that we share this planet with! If you want to learn more and help get involved you can always head to Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund for more information!
