“Star Wars Episode IX,” “Frozen 2,” “The Lion King” and More Get Release Dates, “Gigantic” Pushed Way Back

The Walt Disney Studios just announced a slate of new dates and changes for a number of highly anticipated projects. At the top of the list, Star Wars Episode IX will hit theatres May 24th, 2019. Also getting dates are Jon Favreau’s The Lion King, now set to open July 19th, 2019, and Frozen 2, which will open on November 27th, 2019.

A few previously announced release dates have also been changes. This includes A Wrinkle in Time moving up a few weeks to March 9th, 2018, Magic Camp jumping to April 6th, 2018, Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-it Ralph 2 moving from March 2018 to November 21st, 2018, and Indiana Jones 5 pushing back from July 2019 to July 10th, 2020. In another major change, Disney’s Gigantic will now open November 25th, 2020 — two years later than originally planned.

Lastly, several new untitled projects from Marvel, Pixar, and Disney have gained or moved release dates, as detailed below:
