Tour and Review: Hotel New York – Art Of Marvel at Disneyland Paris

We stayed at the brand new Hotel New York – Art Of Marvel at Disneyland Paris. It officially opened on June 21st 2021, where Spiderman himself was in attendance to welcome guests.

Originally named Hotel New York, this 4-star hotel has been entirely rethemed to celebrate the art of Marvel. With a contemporary New York style, this modern hotel features more than 350 pieces of Marvel artwork (the largest collection in the world) – including incredible works of all your favourite Marvel characters. Only a short walk from the parks – a giant backlit mural, trio of Iron Man suits and Captain America shields are there to greet you right at the entrance. We received this stunning Marvel print by artist Matt Ferguson upon arrival as part of an exclusive launch offer for stays booked before July 29th 2021 – as well as a copy of “The Daily Bugle.”

The hotel is located directly in the Disney Village and is a 5 minute walk to the parks entrance – but a free shuttle is also available.

The Room

We stayed in one of the new Superior Rooms – perfect for up to four guests. Our spacious Manhattan-style room featured some gorgeous art of Iron Man and Spiderman. The Superior room really surpassed our expectations – situated in the Midtown Tower, the huge windows opened up to an incredible view of Lake Disney, the room was fitted with a coffee machine, Hotel New York branded cups and glass Vittel bottles, branded toiletries and a mini- fridge. The television is set within giant mirrored glass and includes options to play music into the shower from your own devices as well as Chromecast. The television also plays the hotel soundtrack – a lo-fi jazz mix that incorporates music from the MCU films. Overall, it is a really incredible modern renovation of the former Hotel New York Rooms.

Super Hero Station

One of the highlights of the hotel has to be the Super Hero Station – an interactive photo station and Marvel character meet and greet, exclusive to Art Of Marvel hotel guests only. We got to check out Peter Parker’s room, had a chance at lifting Mjolnir and Spiderman even popped by to say hello! Slots to visit the Superhero Station can be booked through the app one week prior to your stay.

Marvel Design Studio

For the little superheroes (or villains), the Marvel Design Studio is a great place to learn how to draw all your favourite characters and create your own Marvel Masterpiece. Admittedly, this is also great fun for adults too.

Pool and Sauna

The Metro Pool is the perfect place to prepare for the day, or unwind after a long day at the parks. It features heated indoor and outdoor pools, a kids pool and hot tub. There is also an indoor Fitness Club and outdoor Hero Training Zone.

The sauna and steam room is also available for adults only – opening 7am to 10pm daily (subject to seasonal modification).

New York Boutique

It would be impossible to stay at this hotel without visiting the New York Boutique. Filled to the brim with Marvel souvenirs, this store has everything from action figures to adult apparel. The main draw though, has to be the hotel exclusive items: a variety of prints, pins, lanyards, shirts, robes, statuettes, key rings and even room spray! You can also purchase statuettes of the Iron Man suits as seen in the lobby, and prints of the artwork found around the hotel.

Restaurants and Bars

With two bars and two restaurants (three, if you count the Empire State Club Lounge – an exclusive area for guests staying in suites) there is certainly no shortage of food and beverage options to suit everyone. Downtown Restaurant is a small, laid back and cozy option, where most guests will visit for breakfast – and would be best suited for a more relaxed lunch or coffee. It’s size doesn’t affect the atmosphere though – as it holds the largest collection of Marvel sketches in the entire hotel!

For dinner, a visit to the luxurious Manhattan Restaurant is a must-do (if you can manage to snag a reservation!). The delicious Italian menu is second only to the show stopping Asgardian chandelier.

For drinks, guests can choose from either the modern Skyline Bar or Doctor Strange inspired Bleecker Street Lounge. Though both bars offer a great place to unwind for a drink or catch up – Bleecker Street Lounge comes out on top in my opinion. While the Skyline Bar has a set of infinity stone cocktails, Bleecker Street Lounge has the incredibly instagram-able “Orange Ring Cocktail” (that is served on a levitating base at the bar) and the “Elixir Lemonade” – a mix-it-yourself, colour changing potion that is served in a beaker.

Conclusion

As Marvel fans, it would be hard to be unbiased when reviewing this hotel. It is truly the perfect mix of luxury, art and immersive Marvel theming, with something for absolutely everyone. It’s just enough luxury for the more sophisticated, just enough interactive elements, Easter eggs and characters for the Marvel fans, just enough novelty for the younger guests – and enough dining options to cover every type of palette. A person who has absolutely no interest in the comic book world can still enjoy the beautiful furnishings and artwork – just as much as a die-hard Marvel fan can fully immerse themselves in the theming of this hotel. With the Disneyland Hotel being closed for renovation for the foreseeable future, this makes Hotel New York – Art Of Marvel the most luxurious hotel on property at the moment – but the price point is more than worth it. Being so close to the parks, with all the amenities, details, artwork and beautiful surroundings means Hotel New York – Art Of Marvel has something every member of the family can “marvel” at.
