“Incredibles 2,” “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” “Mary Poppins Returns” and More Nominated for Annie Awards

Considering that the Walt Disney Company empire was built on animation, it’s no wonder that the studio has received multiple nominations for the 46th annual Annie Awards, announced today.

  • Animated hits Incredibles 2 and Ralph Breaks the Internet each received multiple nods, including Best Animated Feature nominations.
  • Additionally the upcoming Mary Poppins Returns — which, like the original, incorporates animation into a live-action film — earned multiple nominations.
  • Some of Disney’s other live-action films also earned nominations for animated effects, including Avengers: Infinity War, Christopher Robin, and The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.
  • Elsewhere, Walt Disney Television Animation earned multiple nominations for series including Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure, Elena of Avalor, Big Hero 6: The Series, and Star vs. the Forces of Evil as well as the Mickey Mouse shorts.
  • Disney Junior shows PJ Masks and Puppy Dog Tails each earned a nomination. Those shows are produced by Frog Box Entertainment and Wild Canary Animation, respectively.
