In celebration of the 66th anniversary of Disneyland we stopped by the resort to see the updated Mickey’s PhilharMagic at Disney California Adventure, which now features a scene based on Disney-Pixar’s Coco.
- Alex got to check out the reopened Mickey’s PhilharMagic with the new scene based on Coco today.
- The scene appears between The Lion King and Peter Pan segments of the show. It transitions from The Lion King into a marigold, signifying the start of the Coco scene.
- From there, the camera pans down to the City of the Dead, where Miguel and Hector are on the back of a skyway cable car singing “Un Poco Loco” and it follows them down to ground level.
- Pepita and Dante as an alebrije fly into the shot and Donald is poofed onto Pepita’s back. He looks confused about how he got there.
- The hat ends up in Dante’s mouth and he gives Donald a chase. Donald gets on his back and Dante flies him up into the clouds.
- We then cuts to the Peter Pan sequence and Donald and the hat fall onto the clock face of Big Ben where Peter Pan and Tinker Bell just landed.
- Aside from the show itself, Cast Members are wearing a marigold (as seen above) to signify the new addition to the show.

- Mickey’s PhilharMagic reopened to Guests today at Disney California Adventure with the addition of a new scene inspired by Disney and Pixar’s Coco.
- The new scene has also been added to the attraction at Disneyland Paris starting today, July 17.
- Disney Parks Blog has shared a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the new scene with Walt Disney Imagineering’s Tom Fitzgerald, Pixar’s Roger Gould and Tasha Sounart, and one of the original composers of Coco, Germaine Franco.

- The new scene will be added to Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort later this year during the Walt Disney World Resort 50th anniversary celebration.
