Deborah Chow Selected to Direct New Obi-Wan Kenobi Series for Disney+

Deborah Chow has been named as the director of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series coming exclusively to Disney+

 

 

What’s Happening:

  • Disney+’s exclusive new series based on Obi-Wan Kenobi has selected Deborah Chow to direct.
  • Deborah Chow is coming almost directly from her work on The Mandalorian to helm the series.
  • Aside from her work on The Mandolorian, Chow has also directed episodes of Mr. Robot, Fear The Walking Dead, and Better Call Saul
  • Ewan McGregor will be reprising his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi for the new series.
  • The new series for Disney+ will be set in the Star Wars timeline eight years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith
  • The series will be written by Hossein Amini, who previously worked on The Alienist and Drive.
  • Deborah Chow, Hossein Amini, and Ewan McGregor will all serve as Executive Producers alongside Tracey Seaward, who previously worked on The Queen, and John Swartz, who worked on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, as well as Kathleen Kennedy.
  • Lucasfilm’s Executive Vice President of Production, Jason McGatlin, will serve as a co-producer of the series exclusively for Disney+
