Since everyone loves a Friday night news dump, The Walt Disney Studios has just announced a number of new release dates stretching into 2023. Unfortunately, we don’t actually know what most of the films are just yet as these are just placeholder dates studios use to stake their claim. Nevertheless, there have been some notable changes to a couple of announced titles.
What’s Happening:
- As Deadline reports, Disney has released a long list of release dates.
- At the top, the release of the Fox sequel The King’s Man has been pushed back from Valentine’s Day 2020 to September 18th, 2020.
- Also moving back are Fox films Ron’s Gone Wrong (November 6th, 2020 to February 26th, 2021) and Nimona (March 5th, 2021 to January 14th, 2022)
- Meanwhile, Fox’s Deep Water now has a release date set for November 13th, 2020 and The Last Duel will debut on Christmas Day 2020 in limited release before expanding nationwide on January 8th, 2021.
- Elsewhere, even some placeholders are being moved as an Untitled Pixar that was set for March 18, 2022 will now come out a week earlier on March 11th.
- Interestingly, two Disney live-action releases — previously announced for October 7th, 2022 and February 17th, 2023 — have been removed from this updated slate.
- Beyond that, the studios set a number of dates for untitled projects from Fox, Disney (live-action and animation), Pixar, and Marvel.
