Olivia Colman is in negotiations to join the cast of Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series, Secret Invasion, according to Variety.
- There is currently no information regarding the role Colman would play in the series, but if she is cast for the show she would be joining Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, and Kingsley Ben-Adir.
- Reps for Colman and Disney have not yet made any comment on the potential casting.
- Colman is known for her role in the 2018 film The Favourite, for which she earned an Academy Award and Golden Globe.
- She also earned nominations for both of those awards for her role in The Father this year.
- On the TV side, Colman received Emmy nominations for her roles in Fleabag and The Night Manager.
- In Marvel Comics, “Secret Invasion” is a story in which Earth has been infiltrated by the shape-shifting race of aliens known as the Skrulls. Earth’s mightiest heroes have to assemble to take out this new threat, but they don’t know who they can trust as an one of them can be a skrull.
- There is currently no timeline for Secret Invasion though it is likely the series will not debut until at least late 2022 or possibly 2023.
