How was your first day of D23 Expo 2019? It was an eventful one for sure packed with plenty of announcements and surprises! From this morning’s Disney Legends ceremony up to the afternoon Disney+ presentation there was so much information to take in. Here’s a short recap of today’s events and some of our favorite moments.
Disney Legends Ceremony
Today, The Walt Disney Company honored 12 men and women by naming them Disney Legends. These individuals were selected for their amazing contributions to Disney and spanned across movies, television, parks and more. The 2019 class inductees were:

- Robert Downey Jr.
- Jon Favreau
- James Earl Jones
- Bette Midler
- Kenny Ortega
- Barnette Ricci
- Robin Roberts
- Diane Sawyer
- Ming-Na Wen

Disney Cosplay

Disney+ Presentation

The animal stars of Lady and the Tramp stopped by to say hello!
D23 Expo 2019 attendees can sign up for 3 years of Disney+ for a discounted price of $140 (plus local tax). On top of that, they get a cool Disney+ Founders Circle pin!
Vader Immortal
During today’s panel, the creative team behind the VR experience gave fans a sneak peek at Vader Immortal Episode II. While the team couldn’t reveal many key details such as release date, they were able to introduce a few new characters and announce returning favorites:
