FX’s CIA drama series The Old Man is coming together. Actor John Lithgow and director Jon Watts have joined the new series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
- Lithgow will star opposite Jeff Bridges, who joined the new series back in July.
- Lithgow, who is known for his roles in the sitcom 3rd Rock from the Sun and comedies like Daddy’s Home 2 and This is 40, will play Harold Harper, an intelligent and tough former FBI agent.
- Harper, who is called back to the FBI after suffering a terrible personal loss, has a complicated with Dan Chase, played by Bridges, which makes him uniquely suited for being the one to hunt him down.
- Jon Watts, director of Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home, will direct and executive produce the new series.
- The series will be written by Jon Steinberg and Robert Levine, who will also serve as executive producers alongside Warren Littlefield, Dan Shotz, and David Schiff and Bridges.
- The series will be produced by Fox 21 Television Studios in association with The Littlefield Company and production will begin this Fall.
