There's no better time to visit Walt Disney World than during the holidays. From the moment you arrive on property you'll notice the decorations. It would be impossible to list everything to look for, so we've just tried to mention some of the things to look for in the major locations. But don't stop there. Wherever you decide to go you're sure to to see decorations appropriate for the location.

The Magic Kingdom
Christmas can be found all over the Magic Kingdom with traditional decorations on Main Street and themed festivities elsewhere. Highlights at the include:

  • Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party: Selected nights between November 10 - December 19

  • Holiday Wishes: Celebrate the Spirit of the Season: A special version of Wishes performing during each Very Merry Christmas Party and during regular park hours on selected nights.

  • Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade: Performs during each Very Merry Christmas Party and a daytime version on selected day.

  • Castle Dream Lights: Cinderella Castle is transformed into a shimmering, glimmering ice palace starting November 10th. This must be seen to be believed.

  • Meet Santa: Details of meeting Santa haven't been announced but he's usually available during the day from late November and at every Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

Epcot
Celebrating the holidays around the world is the focus at Epcot. The festivities run November 28 - December 30th. Highlights include:

  • Candlelight Processional: A spiritual Christmas tradition. Nightly November 28 - December 30th.

  • Holidays Around the World: International holiday traditions unfold throughout World Showcase Nov. 28-Dec. 30 when storytellers portraying cultural icons of the season � such as France�s Pere Noel, Italy�s LaBefana and America�s Santa Claus � spread messages of goodwill. Nighttime sparkles with a luminous light bridge adorning the breezeway to World Showcase Plaza, where guests can see a magnificent holiday tree.

  • Lights of Winter: A dazzling synchronized light show illuminates a canopy adorning the World Showcase breezeway bridge. Each evening the lights begin with the nightly tree lighting with Mickey and friends.

  • A special holiday ending to Illuminations: Reflections of Earth

  • Meet Santa at the American Pavilion

Disney's Hollywood Studios
The entire park is decorated for the season with a Tinsel Town flair November 28 - January 4. But it's all just a set up for the biggest spectacle of them all...

  • The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights: Bathed in bulbs of brilliance, New York Street glows with millions of dancing lights and animated displays in a revered Disney holiday tradition Nov. 28 through Jan. 4, 2009. Amidst gently falling snow, guests will bask in the glow as twirling carousels, melodic angels, colorful wreaths, marching toy soldiers and Santa and his reindeer move to high-energy music and 3-D effects, creating a dazzling symphony for the senses. This enchanting spectacle results from a crew of 18 electricians working some 14 weeks using six miles of rope lights, 84 angels and 66 snow machines.

Animal Kingdom
Like the Christmas Tree in front of the park, the holiday decorations at Animal Kingdom are unique. The decorations are up November 28 - January 4. Highlights at Animal Kingdom include:

  • Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade: �Mickey�s Jammin� Jungle Parade� gets a holiday makeover when it is magically transformed into �Mickey�s Jingle Jungle Parade.� This rompin� spectacle is a theatrical showcase of characters with whimsical floats and puppetry with a holiday world-beat twist.

  • Much of the park is decorated for the season. Camp Minnie-Mickey is a highlight where Disney characters in their holiday best. They've also each decorated their own Christmas Tree. Christmas Carolers can be found there as well and outside the park is a unique 65-foot Christmas Tree.

Downtown Disney
The Christmas spirit extends to Downtown Disney as well. And don't forget - it's free! (Nov 28 - Dec 24)

  • Festival of the Seasons: There are enough toys to fill up Santa�s sleigh at stores such as Once Upon a Toy, World of Disney, Team Mickey�s Athletic Club and the LEGO Imagination Center. Guests can finish their holiday shopping at this one-stop mecca featuring something for everyone on their list � Basin bath and body shop, Arribas Brothers, Disney�s Days of Christmas holiday shop, Fuego by Sosa Cigars and more � and enjoy the dazzling light display and holiday d�cor that adorns the Downtown Disney streets.

    Guests can also meet Santa every day during the festival from 12p - 10p from Nov 28 - Dec 24).. Santa is also appearing from 5p - 10p from Nov 15 - Nov 27.

New Year's Eve
Walt Disney World Resort typically offers many options for celebrating the official kickoff of 2009.
