Marvel’s sequel to surprise hit Guardians of the Galaxy promises even more action, adventure, and… cuteness, thanks to Baby Groot. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will also introduce us to Peter Quill’s (AKA Star-Lord) father, played by Disney Legend Kurt Russell. The film will blast into theatres on May 5th and tickets are now on sale.

El Capitan Theatre
The world famous El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood will screen Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in Dolby Vision Laser Projection with Dolby Atmos Sound Technology.
On Thursday, May 4 The El Capitan Theatre will host a Double Feature Fan Event with Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy at 4:00 PM followed by Marvel Studios’ Guardians
of the Galaxy Vol. 2 at 7:00PM. Admission is $50 per person, which includes: reserved seating, popcorn in a souvenir tin (with one free refill), 20 oz. bottled drink and an exclusive variant cover Guardians of the Galaxy comic book. That evening will include a costume contest, prizes, giveaways and more surprises.
There will also be an additional screening on May 4 of Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 at 10:40PM.
Special group rates for Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 of $10 for parties of 20 or more are available by calling 1-818-845-3110. On the Opening Weekend, May 5 through 7, the showtimes are 9:00AM, 12:35PM, 4:10PM, 7:45PM, and 11:20PM. From May 8 to 21, daily showtimes are 11:45AM, 3:25PM, 7:00PM, and 10:35PM. Showtimes and dates are subject to change.

The El Capitan Theatre will also host TINY TOT TUESDAYS during the first shows on May 9 and May 16; during these special screenings, parents and small children may enjoy the movie in a tot-friendly way—with lights dimmed rather than out and reduced sound levels.
Summer of Heroes and Mission: BREAKOUT!
Coinciding with the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, a new attraction at Disney California Adventure will be opening called Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! The attraction is taking over the former home of the Twilight Tower and Terror, which is currently being transformed into the Collector’s Fortress. Although the ride is not based on the plotlines of the films, there will surely be plenty of references both in the queue and attraction itself.
