While it's not my personal favorite attraction (by a long shot), it's definitely a classic. It's Disney at it's best, and it shouldn't be missed. The recent changes to incorporate character from the films has made it ever better.

Pirates of the Caribbean was better before the Jack Sparrow-ization in 2006. The Davy Jones effect is neat, though.

this ride really gives you the feeling of being in a plaza being robbed by actual pirates. I've loved it since I first rode. I wouldn't suggest letting very young kids ride, though. There is a small drop that may frighten them.

This is (and always has been) my favorite slow ride at WDW. My kids aren't quite ready to enjoy it yet, but I do.

This was amazing. :) Jack Sparrow, the updated audio-animatronic is a little akward next to the other, since he is a newer model and has more movement (and he blinks too ^_^) it is a little strange compared to the stiffer non-blinking ones. That's just what makes this ride amazing though. It really does look like Johnny Depp :) Oh and every like, hour, there's a little show outside of the attraction. This is a key time to go on the ride. The line will be a bit shorter, but the show is great. ^_^ They picked a great person to be Jack Sparrow because he does have some similarites :)

When I was there Dec. 19 - 24 of 2006, due to the addition of Capt. Jack the lines were often over an hour long every day. Get there early if you are at the park during a peak period!

The new Audio-Animatronics of Captain Jack Sparrow (and Barbossa) will delight all "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie fans. I can't wait for Will and Elizabeth to join the fray!

While I give this ride a 4 based on thrills, this isn't a thrill ride. It is thrilling being on the ride itself. That makes zero sense, but hey I know what I mean.

I can't understand how LP gave this ride a 3/4. This is one of the best rides in MK. A true classic. Cebb down below wrote about DL's being much better but it's almost a clone minus the Bayou in the beginning as well as the extended skeleton scenes. This ride has a much better que area too.

This classic attraction is what it is and does a perfect job being just that. Therefore, I give it a four. I have never been on the one in CA, but heard the one there is longer. If one thing could be improved, I'd say to add a special effects-ridden storm sequence in the beginning, where riders would get a little wet, complete with rain, lightning, and water turbulence.

Another good ride to sit down and relax after walking forever. All of the ADVENTURELAND rides are good to hit at night, because everyone is watching the parade and the fireworks show. (Sometimes the boats get stuck from overpiling!)

LOVE IT. Another Disney Classic. But I must say that I just went to Disneyland Paris a few weeks and got and the Pirate ride over in Paris is unreal. 2-falls, longer ride and it even has a dinning area inside the ride like Mexico in Epcot. But this is still a great classic ride...leave it as is.

there is almost never a line for this ride so there is no excuse not to ride it. also the "plunge" you take got my sister nervous, but its not bad at all. it is not as bad as it sounds. i mean literally. when youre on the ride you hear rushing water ahead and you think "o no this is gonna be bad!" but its not.

A MUST every time! We've never had a long wait (no matter what time of year) and can't wait to "yo-ho!" The kids (first time visits at 1 year old) have never been afraid; just amazed. Hopefully this won't be "updated"; it's another disney classic that shouldn't be fooled with.

This is a true classic and is highly underrated in the rankings category. This is what Disney is all about. Old animatronics, simple story, relaxing cool atmosphere, and the sensation of never wanting to leave. I love this one and it will never be outdated.

Oh yeah, baby. Amazing sets, some great animatronics. Our favorite bit is when your boat first sails out into the bay where a cannon battle is raging between the pirates' boat and the fortress. They've done an amazing job of making it look like you can see all the way to the horizon, and I always get a little frisson of really "being there".

This is my personal favorite ride form the waiting in line walking through all those halls, the theme song, the whole ride, up until the exit where you can join the pirates(by buying bandanas, shot glasses,etc...) and some of their supplies.

While this isn't a favorite of mine, I still think it's a WDW classic that you can't pass on when you visit the MK. I've never ridden DL's version, so I can't compare. The un-PC scenes have never bothered me. In my experience there is almost never a wait for this ride in the afternoon, my family usually literally walks onto the ride. The theming of the line area is outstanding, though, and it is very cool on those hot summer days.

The recent renovation has given more atmosphere to this ride - now you're surrounded by water stretching off on all sides for long portions of it. Still one of the best older attractions, and now it's even better. Hopefully the Jungle Cruise will have a similarly effective upgrade.

A true favorite of mine, the ride ust gets better and better each time I ride. Fun, exciting, and that song, though repitious, isn't as obnoxious as "It's a Small World." A great ride for the whole family.

Hate to beat a dead horse, but this ride came after the D'land version, yet it is the one that seems thrown together. And I still have a problem with the whole raping and pillaging thing done for laughs. Take out the poor women in that ride!

I hate to compair WDW and Disneyland but when it comes to this attraction you just have to. This is a at best sub par copy of the one at Disneyland. The only real thing that saves it is its amazing queue.

Another classic! Don't visit the Magic Kingdom without riding Pirates. If you have seen Disneyland's original, the WDW version will disapoint however. The WDW Pirates is only half as long, with abbreviated sets or scenes missing entirely. The animatronics are getting quite rusty, and lots of effects quite visibly don't work. Like the Haunted Mansion, this classic needs lots of TLC, and quickly! Disneylanders will be disapointed, while others probably don't know what WDW is missing out on with this shortened and half-hearted Pirates.

Pirates is a Disney Classic, and certainly one of the biggest draws at the Magic Kingdom. However, it pales terribly to the original at Disneyland, offering visitors from the West Coast little more than a general disappointment. The queue is much nicer than California's, however.
