Disneyland's 45th Anniversary - Parade

45 Years of Magic - The Parade of Stars celebrates Characters and Guests, the two "stars" who have helped make Disneyland so magical over the years. Following the 45th anniversary theme of "There's Magic in the Stars", the floats and Disney characters appear to rest on top of clouds as the parade processes down the route. Also keep an eye out for a star motif on character costumes and some of the floats.

The Music
The parade music features two classic Disney numbers When You Wish Upon A Star and A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes. Interwoven with these two numbers are a score of snippets from your favorite Disney movies including recent hits like Tarzan and classics like Mary Poppins.  Click on any of the pictures below to hear sound clips from the parade:

The Guests
A special feature of this year's parade is guest participation. During the hour prior to the parade special cast members called "Guest Coaches" select approximately 45 guests to join in the celebration. The lucky and energetic guests are then loaded onto one of the double-decker busses and taken to the beginning of the parade route for costuming and some quick rehearsal.

The Omnibus rolls down Main Street picking up guests

Guests are instructed in what's required then ride towards the other end of the parade
