Something we've heard...
Disney Creative Entertainment have inked a deal with FremantleMedia North America to bring the popular American Idol concept to the US theme parks. The show itself is still in development but we understand that it will involved guests offering up demos in advance of their visit to Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World and Disney's California Adventure Park at Disneyland Resort. Guests will then be selected to take part in a live talent show inside the park. Winners are likely to be invited back for a final to select the Ultimate Disney Idol. This is likely to be the first of a new series of deals with outside partners to bring intellectual property inside the parks. The deal is not subject to the purview of Rupert Murdoch's Twentieth Century Fox Corp.
