Wild Africa Trek opens to the public on January 16, 2011 at Animal Kingdom. This new type of experience takes guests on an adventure like never before - a privately guided expedition featuring close encounters with the wildlife and a VIP safari across the savannah.

Call (407) WDW-TOUR to make a reservation. The tour takes approximately 3 hours. According to the original press release "Pricing for this unique adventure will vary seasonally. Guests who reserve a booking from Jan. 16-Feb. 26, 2011, may take advantage of an introductory offer starting at $129." Park admission is not included but is required. Guests must be age 8 or older and in good physical health as this is a physically challenging adventure. In addition, we were told there is a 310 lb weight limit due to the rope bridges.

Any item that cannot be safely tethered must be stowed in a locker. You can keep your camera around your neck and cameras with wrist straps can be tethered to your vest and stowed in a pocket when both hands are needed. Hats and sunglasses will also be tethered.

Trekkers are provided with the travel vest and a stainless steel water bottle that attaches to the vest and fits in a pocket. The cast verbally guide you through putting on the vest and adjusting the straps to fit. This enables you to make any adjustments you might wish for comfort during the journey.
