LP Lotion: Mickey and the Magical Map Set to Debut in Fantasyland Theater This Summer
Page 1 of 2
Disneyland will welcome a new fully staged musical production this summer. “Mickey and the Magical Map” will debut at the restored Fantasyland Theater, which has served in recent years as the Fantasy Faire. With the construction of a permanent new home for the princesses in the former Carnation Gardens, the theater, located adjacent to the entrance to Toontown is again available.
“Mickey and the Magical Map” is an original production that will use classic Disney characters, with an emphasis on animation. The centerpiece of the show will be a large map, the creation of sorcerer Yen Sid and his paintbrush-wielding assistants. Mickey Mouse, a lowly apprentice, longs to join the ranks of the apprentices. His efforts lead to a great deal of interaction with the magical map, and adventures with characters that appear in the places it takes him. Among the characters who will appear are the denizens of the Jungle Book, three Disney princesses, Lilo and Stitch, and Ariel’s friends from under the sea.
