Rainforest Café is coming to Downtown Disney

RAINFOREST CAFE TO DEVELOP UNIT AT ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX AT THE DISNEYLAND RESORT IN ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA

RAINFOREST CAFE TO BE LOCATED AT DOWNTOWN DISNEY WHICH CONNECTS THE NEW DISNEY'S CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE PARK WITH DISNEYLAND

(MINNEAPOLIS, MN - October 12, 1999)- RAINFOREST CAFE, A WILD PLACE TO SHOP AND EAT announced it has signed a lease to locate its unique dining and shopping experience at the new Downtown Disney complex, located at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. The 600-seat Rainforest Cafe will be located near the entrance of the Downtown Disney complex, and is anticipated to open in the year 2001.

Downtown Disney, a retail, dining and entertainment center, is part of a major expansion of the Disneyland Resort. The Disneyland Resort expansion will include a new theme park called Disney's California Adventure, Downtown Disney with shopping, theaters and dining, as well as a deluxe hotel to be called the Grand Californian Hotel. At the heart of The Disneyland Resort, Downtown Disney, will be an entertainment mecca of themed retail, dining, nightclubs, and other venues all within walking distance for guests, conventioneers and local residents. Downtown Disney will become a unique gathering place, connecting the two theme parks - Disney's California Adventure and Disneyland--together with The Disneyland Resort Hotels.

Rainforest..Cafe President Kenneth Brimmer commented, "The announcement marks the fourth Rainforest Cafe unit located at a Disney property. Currently Rainforest Cafe has two locations in the Orlando market (units at Downtown Disney Marketplace and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park), as well as Disneyland Paris.
