WDCC announces Fantasia 2000 collection of porcelain art

The Walt Disney Classics Collection salutes Walt Disney's Fantasia / 2000 with an array of all-new porcelain sculptures

New Limited -Edition Releases Capture the Artistry and Visual Magnificence of Disney’s Highly Anticipated Film

November 1, 1999 - - As moviegoers everywhere await the premier of Fantasia / 2000, the Walt Disney Classics Collection celebrates the highly-anticipated new film with an array of new porcelain sculpture releases including five numbered limited editions of 2000, and two commemorative pieces limited to production in the year 2000.

The original Fantasia was conceived as a “repertoire program” with changing animated sequences set to fine classical music. Fantasia / 2000 builds upon that original vision by bringing together seven new vignettes and one returning favorite, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.” The Walt Disney Classics Collection captures the beauty, fun and creativity of Fantasia / 2000 with all-new array of impressive porcelain sculptures. The creation of each Walt Disney Classics Collection sculpture in the Fantasia / 2000 portfolio was personally supervised and approved by Roy E. Disney (Chairman of Walt Disney Feature Animation and Executive Producer of Fantasia / 2000), along with the film’s lead artists and directors.
