Since it's formal announcement on Disneyland's 41st birthday (July 17, 1996), the expansion of the Disneyland Resort has been the subject of much speculation, investigation and opinion on and off the Internet. No other theme park in the history of the Walt Disney Company has been dissected during construction as much as Disney's California Adventure (DCA). Pictures of the construction are posted on a weekly basis on a number of websites including LaughingPlace.com. The watchful eye on DCA has been so strong, that many Disney fans have already formed a strong opinion of the park one way or the other without having stepped foot into it.

Disneyland Update
But despite the regular reports and updates, there have been relatively few articles that try to describe DCA and the rest of the resort expansion to the uninitiated. That's what this article attempts to do. If you've followed the progress of the expansion for awhile, you may not find much new information in this article. But for those who aren't that familiar with DCA this article should serve as a thorough introduction to what you can expect at the Disneyland Resort come February 2001.
