Before the Ceremony
On Sunday, September 23rd, Disneyland guests along with numerous cast members and media were invited to Town Square at noon for a formal ceremony as the flag of the United States of America was raised to full staff. As the crowd gathered for the event cast members handed out small American flags. Approximately 15 minutes before the event the Disneyland Band marched down Main Street to the area where the flag pole and introductory speech of Walt Disney stand. The crowd waved the flags were in time with music. Many in the crowd sang along with "This is My Country" and "You're a Grand Old Flag."
