Traveling to Disney with a 3 year old sure does make a difference.

Today was a little different. Some friends asked Rebekah and I to watch their three year old (Indigo) for the day. That meant we'd be going to Disney with a youngster - very strange! We let him pick the agenda and he said "Nemo show?". No argument here - off we went to Animal Kingdom to see Finding Nemo - The Musical ... again. The little one likes to sit in front so that's what we did - right in the front row - an interesting perspective. The show is still great but I would recommend you back up at least a few rows for the best views. :)

There are large "bubbles" on either side of the stage and before the show Nemo randomly swims through them. However, he's not always visible so it's fun to hear kids say "Nemo!" and point only to see the parents look and not see anything. Indigo had a great time trying to guess where he'd show up next.

Another favorite of Indigo's is the Festival of the Lion King so we went there next. Again we had the front row and let me tell you, life is different when you're with a cute little kid. He was chosen to demonstrate the giraffe sound and to participate in the Circle of Life segment.

During the show I noticed the fire dancer drop the baton - never saw that before. And during the encores he didn't come back out to do the knives. Hopefully, he didn't injure himself.

After lunch at Tusker House (their veggie sandwich was pretty good and I'm not a veggie fan. Carrot cake wasn't bad either), we watched the Jingle Jungle parade which luckily started a day early. I love both this parade and the regular Jammin' Jungle. They really know how to have fun in this park!

Indigo meets Turk during the parade

We thought that would be it for the day, but Indigo let us know he wasn't quite ready to go. I believe the word he used was "Safari?" So again - off we went. Have I mentioned the cute kid thing yet? Indigo got to be a Junior Guide on this one helping our driver spot the animals. He got to use a cool pair of Animal Kingdom binoculars and got a certificate upon our safe return. For some reason the Warden audio wasn't working on our Safari which is nothing to complain about if you've been on it a few times.

Indigo on the lookout

Ready to go now, Indigo? Nope! But we don't have a choice, the park is closed. So I popped him on my shoulders and we made our way towards the Oasis. But before we could leave, Indigo did have one more request. "Bridge?" So off the shoulders, across the suspension bridge, and finally on our way home.

I thought going to Disney at 35 was great, but it might even better at 3! Either way, it was a very, very nice Disney day!
