There is no better way to end a day at the Magic Kingdom Park than with fireworks. That is, until the prime viewing spot that you so carefully chose becomes not-so-prime for a variety of reason. Now I cant blame anyone for being tall, and I can understand why people put small children on their shoulders, but sometimes it doesnt take much to ruin a short persons or childs view of the fireworks.

On this years trip, I decided to splurge a little to ensure a great view of the fireworks by purchasing tickets to the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party. The party takes place at the Tomorrowland Terrace restaurant and begins approximately 1 hour before the start of the fireworks. When we arrived at the party people were already lined up but when they opened the doors, the line moved quickly. Everyone was given a wristband to identify their participation (also allowing for in and out bathroom privileges). We were escorted to our assigned table and were then free to begin the dessert feeding frenzy.

The food is served buffet style and appeared to be replenished until about 15 minutes before the start of the fireworks. There were so many desserts to choose from. There was chocolate in the form of brownies and mousse, rice crispy treats, fresh fruit, ice cream, various pastries and tarts, crme brulee and chocolate covered strawberries. They offer coffee (decaf/regular), tea (hot/iced), ice cold milk, and lemonade. If a member of your party has food allergies/special food needs, they will bring out special desserts for that individual as well as let you know what desserts can be consumed on the buffet. A PhotoPass photographer is also available to take pictures prior to the start of the fireworks.

Once we filled our plates with yumminess we sat down and enjoyed a relaxing time eating and talking. We caught a glimpse of the evening parade from the terrace and we enjoyed hearing the music from the parade while we waited. If you would like to see the parade, do not count on this area as a place for viewing as it is a distance away from the parade route. Before the fireworks started we moved from our table to the railing to watch. Although we were not sitting center to the castle, the view was amazing and we were thrilled to have Tinker Bell fly right over us. Depending on your table location, you could also remain seated and enjoy a great view.

Some might consider the party to be pricey, and although it is not an event I would purchase for every visit, we all felt it was the perfect way to end the day. Everyone in my family was able to enjoy the fireworks in a relaxed, obstruction free manner. After the fireworks were over we easily walked to the Tomorrowland Area and enjoyed many of the attractions with very little wait. Party goers are also free to linger on the terrace until the crowds die down.

Tickets to the party range from $15 to $35.99 per person, depending on age and the season. Bookings for the party usually open around 90 days in advance and working with a MouseEarVacaitons.com consultant means well take care of all the details for you!!  What a tasty way to end a magical day!
