The MouseBear Family Trip to Disney's California Adventure

Paradise Pier and the Electrical Parade
When we arrived at the Pier we spent quite awhile just walking up and down the Midway. The
Pier is amazing at night, and to me was a vision of an idealized beachfront amusement
park. Sam rode King Tritons Carousel, (he likes fish almost as much as he likes
bugs) and we rode the Jumpin Jellyfish several times. He had a great time playing on
the S.S. Rustworthy. We decided it was time to go to the hotel, when we heard the music
for the Electrical Parade. There was hardly anyone by the Pacific Wharf, so we stopped
there to watch. Sam was the only small child around, so the bugs and turtles kept coming
up to him. He thought that was great, and I must admit the DEP was much brighter and more
magical than its WDW version. Sam was done, but I must commend him for walking most
of the way back to the hotel.
Sam On the S.S. Rustworthy
So that was one of our days at California Adventure. We did go back into the Park, but tended to mix going there with doing things in Disneyland. We also visited with LuLu and her daughter, and we had a great time riding the Paradise Pier rides. (Except for the Sun Wheel, its HIGH!) I hope that our experience demonstrates that families can have a good time in DCA. DCA is a work in progress, but I think it has great things to offer right now.
