Here's the original on his show perch. He was voiced by Wally Boag, and his name was evidently Juan, because he "was Juan of the 250 birds and flowers" found inside the attraction.

Kevin's fondness for the guy goes way back. The Barker Bird was an exhibit in the old Walt Disney Story pre-show.

Another piece for Pirates fans - these Pirates Marble Book Ends - LE 1,000 - are beautifully presented. Kevin and Jody went directly to the WDI art library to get Marc Davis' concept sketches for this piece. It's part of the New Orleans Square merchandise array and the on-line launch is August 12th, with the catalog launch on August 15th.

I love the weight of cast pewter - there's a real tactile connection to the piece when you can feel it in your hands. This is a bare piece in the Adventureland boxed set. I almost prefer it unpainted.
