In 1958 Alice resurfaced in Disneyland. It was a perfect choice for a dark ride. The fanciful visuals of the movie would really enhance the otherworldliness of the theme park aesthetic. I enjoyed the upside down room particularly, and can close my eyes and still see the fish swimming in an upside down bowl.

Now that’s a garden!

In the rebuilding of Fantasyland in 1983, Alice got her own corner. The East side of Fantasyland was re-themed and Mad Tea Party moved. It is a winning part of Fantasyland, and remains crowded and popular today. The tall, colorful flora and the cartoonish Japanese lanterns are very well done and fun to look at. There is a crazy energy about the loud colors and shapes. The music of the tea party always sticks in my head, and I hum it all during my stay in Fantasyland.

We gotta get back to the garden!

There is no escape.

Oh, and by the way: There really is an answer to the riddle, "Why is a raven like a writing desk". According to "the Annotated Alice", the answer is: "Because they both make notes".

Or maybe not.

He knows where the fun is.
