Disney's California Adventure
After discussing Disneyland's 45th Anniversary, DeCaro moved on to Disney's California Adventure (DCA). He told us DCA would have its own mascot - a brand new Disney character. He then went on to describe each of the retail shops that will be in DCA:

DCA Main Entrance
  • Greeting from California - Larger than the Emporium, sells everything. The only place in DCA to get DCA-themed classic Disney character merchandise. Character merchandise will be DCA themed. Merchandise featuring the new DCA mascot will be available throughout the park.
  • Engine-Ears Toys - Second largest DCA shop. The ultimate toy store. Lots of themed toys. A real Zephyr train will be on its side outside the store. Walking through the store gives the feel of stepping into a model train set including miniature trees, tunnels, etc.

Golden State

  • Rushin' River Outfitters - Near the Grizzly River Run exit. Featuring outdoor-themed clothing and outdoor sports gear.
  • Santa Rosa Seed and Supply - Garden store

Condor Flats

  • Fly 'n' Buy - Aviation inspired merchandise. Soarin' Over California merchandise

Hollywood Picture Backlot

  • Gone Hollywood - The Emporium of the district. Trendy and teen wear. Tongue in cheek merchandise - designer pets, Zen, parody movie posters. Superstar Limo merchandise.
  • ABC Soaplink - Tied in to the Soap Opera Cafe. The Cafe will have waiters and waitresses playing the roles in a soap opera, somewhat similar to the 50's Prime Time cafe at Disney-MGM Studios in Walt Disney World.
  • Rizzo's Prop & Pawn Shop - At the MuppetVision exit. Small souvenir stand run by the Muppets
  • Off The Page - At the exit of the Animation Tour. Disney character products. Learn to draw. Clothing that's black and white indoors and turns color when you're in the sun. The concept art shows pages flying all over the "sky" with character jumping "off the page"..

Paradise Pier

  • Treasures in Paradise - Historic amusement park memorabilia. High-end merchandise - snow globes, music boxes. Eg. A very nice King Triton's Carousel music box. California Screamin' merchandise.
  • Point Magu - Accessories, body adornment (not tattoos or piercing)
  • Man Hat 'n' Beach - Typical beachfront store. T-shirts, sweatshirts, flip flops and even surfboards
  • Sideshow Shirts - Circus tent feel. The destination for tank tops, t-shirts, sweatshirts and all clothing related to Paradise Pier attractions.
  • Dinosaur Jack's Sunglass Shack - Store is shaped like a dinosaur
  • Souvenir 66 - Quintessential roadside souvenir stand. Paradise Pier themed souvenirs. And a first for Disneyland: Heat transfer t-shirts
