Magical Holiday Memories

Reader Cheri was kind enough to send the following Disney Holiday Memories:

When my kids were quite young, we took them to the Nut Tree in Vacaville, CA to see Santa. We were able to talk to his "elf" prior to seeing Santa, so were able to set up ahead of time our surprise. I had gone to the store and bought two Santa Mickey Christmas cards and put into them the airplane tickets for a trip to Disneyland. I then signed the cards with my "Santa" stamp that I used for everything from the time they were born, so they wouldn't know my signature. That year, we took the kids to Disneyland with the trip given to the family from Santa Claus...it was the greatest time.

The next time that we spent Christmas in Disneyland was six years ago when we got off a cruise ship Christmas Eve, then spent Christmas Day in Disneyland...that time only my grown up daughter went, my son was in college, so didn't want to go.

The New Millennium
begins at Disneyland

The most recent fun holiday was this year, when my husband and I drove down (spur of the moment) and spent the day in Disneyland for New Year's Day (couldn't do it New Year's Eve as it's my daughter's birthday)...I will always remember where I spent the first day of 2000, and we had an absolutely wonderful day! We were able to still enjoy all of the parades and decorations, and had the best time ever! It is a 6-1/2 hour drive for us (each way), but I was thrilled to spend this special day with my sweetie! All of the Cast Members were so wonderfully kind that day. We met some people that had spent Christmas Day and Eve at Disney World, and New Year's Day and Eve at Disneyland, they were from Australia.
