As the celebration began, several pairs of dancers appeared from inside the castle and danced towards the stage. Later, a significant number of Disney characters appeared as passengers on the parks omnibus to accompany Roy E. onto the stage.

"Of course, Walt never saw this magnificent park. But his spirit can be felt everywhere you look. The continuing popularity of the Disneyland park is really a tribute to Walt, and his lifelong partner, his brother, my father, Roy. Together they created magic and one of the great things about magic is that it is equally enchanting in any language, in any culture, in any country, anywhere in the world. If anyone had any doubts about the universality of entertainment magic, this park proves it."
After a short speech about the parks success since the Grand Opening back in 1992, the cast members brought a giant birthday cake. The new 10th birthday song, an upbeat pop-style number, was the cue for the dancers to join their partners for the finale, climaxing with daytime fireworks.

The celebration was fairly short, but enjoyable. The tenth birthday song is as catchy as its predecessors, like "Its the Year To Be Here", thanks to a melody by Vasile Surli, the Resorts musical director. The song has also been woven into the Wonderful World of Disney parade temporarily and can be heard as the finale to the new Minnies Birthday Surprise at Videopolis in Discoveryland (through January 5 2003).
