Guests visiting the Asia section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom are getting a glimpse of the latest addition to the park’s family – an endangered white-cheeked gibbon born Feb. 2.

The yet-to-be named male and his mother, Melaka, are bonding well according to the animal experts who oversee the daily care of primates. Guests may see them and the baby’s two sisters, Suki and Tuyen, in their habitat near Kali River Rapids.

Disney Interactive Studios today officially announced development of Toy Story 3: The Video Game, supporting all major platforms and featuring a fun, new way to enjoy the Toy Story universe. Unveiled at the American International Toy Fair in New York City by Mary Beech, general manager and vice president of franchise development and marketing for Disney Consumer Products, Toy Story 3: The Video Game will feature film adventures along with Disney’s first open-world gameplay for kids. Inspired by the upcoming Disney•Pixar animated film, Toy Story 3: The Video Game is due on retail shelves June 15, 2010.

Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre Celebrates the 10th Anniversary of Disney’s FANTASIA 2000 Feb 17-27 - (DL) (2/16/2010)

Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre celebrates the 10th anniversary of Walt Disney Pictures’ “Fantasia 2000” with a special limited engagement of the film from February 17 to 27. The music for “Fantasia 2000” was conducted by James Levine, and performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Accompanying “Fantasia 2000” will be the short animated subject “Destino,” a collaboration between Walt Disney and Salvador Dali, which was begun in 1945, and finally realized in 2004.  The late Roy Edward Disney was the head of Disney Animation, and was executive producer of both “Fantasia 2000” and “Destino.”

Disneyland Resort President Announces New Cast Member Programs - (DL) (2/12/2010)

On February 8, Disneyland® Resort President George A. Kalogridis announced a series of new and enhanced Cast Member-focused programs to become available over the next several months, leading up to the 55th anniversary of Disneyland® Park on July 17. Kalogridis stated in his message to Cast Members that "from 1955 until today, our emphasis on our guests and Cast has made us successful, and will continue to be just as important over the next 50 years too."

The app for iPhone and iPod Touch, FastTrac(TM), for Disneyland cuts users' waiting time for the park's rides. Disneyland Resort Celebrates Third Shift Cast - (DL) (2/3/2010)

On February 3, approximately 1,400 third shift cast members from throughout Disneyland Resort were celebrated during a World of Color-themed breakfast at the Disneyland Hotel in the early hours of the morning. These cast members, who work while most people are sleeping, do everything from landscaping to maintaining attractions to cleaning streets. The cast was acknowledged and thanked by their leaders and Disneyland Resort President George A. Kalogridis.

According to the Orlando Sentinel the McDonalds at Downtown Disney (FL) will close April 30 and will be replaced by Pollo Campero, a Latin chicken fast-food chain. The closure is reportedly connected to the previously announced conclusion of the McDonalds-Disney partnership. The McDonalds located near the All Stars Resorts will remain open.
