Disneyland Weather Report for January 31st from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/31/2012)

After quite the cool down yesterday expect another cool one today (though slightly warmer than Monday).  Temperatures will warm through the week though and we'll be back up around 80 by the time Thursday rolls around.

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly it cools down when the sun goes down out there and once that happens tonight temperatures will once again drop down into the mid 40s.

Walt Disney World Weather Report January 31st from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/31/2012)

I can't believe I missed this yesterday so I would be remiss if I didn't say it today - Happy Birthday yesterday to my favorite show (in all of its forms) Illuminations!

Ok well now that we have that taken care of - today proves to be another slightly warmer than average day with potentially a little more cloud cover this afternoon.  Highs should get into the mid 70s - (think about 76) and then cool back down over night into the mid 50s once again.  The stage will be set once again for some patchy fog when you wake up on Wednesday.

Temperatures are even warmer on Thursday as we flirt with 80, but it looks like some showers are not out of the question.

Disneyland Weather Report for January 30th from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/30/2012)

After a few really warm days with plenty of sunshine (though wow does it get chilly at night around here thanks to that dry air) ... looks like things will cool down a bit to start your week off.  Plenty of sunshine continues through the week with some fog expected most mornings (after tomorrow) - but temperatures will rebound nicely as we get to mid week and we'll be back up flirting with 80 by Thursday.

Congratulations to everyone who ran the inaugural Tinkerbell half marathon - I hope I see some of you in just FOUR weeks for the Princess down in Walt Disney World!

Walt Disney World Weather Report January 30th from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/30/2012)

I can sum up this coming week pretty easily ... warm, warm, warmer, ten degrees above average, showers. cooldown for the weekend.

That kind of forecast is usually something you can expect things this time of the year as we head into February.  Believe it or not Florida will start to warm up now as a general rule week to week with February right ahead of us - so that's good news for all of you northerners traveling south for a vacation.

It will be pretty calm and tranquil with temperatures in the mid 70s today - maybe a little cooler Tuesday but then warming up towards 80 as we head towards the end of the week where we bring in a chance for showers ahead of our next little cool front.  So plenty of sunshine to enjoy the next few days so if you are lucky enough to get outside and enjoy it - DO IT!

As I type this - t minus only 4 weeks to go before the Princess ... uh oh.  Have a great week every body.

Disneyland Weather Report for the January 27th Weekend from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/27/2012)

I am telling you - it's days like yesterday today, tomorrow, the day after that (repeat) that I wonder to myself "hey Jeff why on earth do you not move to Southern California"???

After a picture perfect blue bird day Thursday with temperatures close to 80 if not 80 in spots ... the hits keep coming.  Expect sun through the weekend with temperatures topping out in the upper 70s and bottoming out in the low 50s to upper 40s.

I could say more - but why bother ... you are just making people jealous anyway!

Walt Disney World Weather Report the January 27th Weekend from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/27/2012)

Well today won't be the best day of the week but it shouldn't be a washout either.  In fact depending on the speed of things the rain may have already arrived and departed by the time you read this.  That said if it hasn't there is a chance that a few showers on your Friday could become severe - but it seems unlikely that that would be very widespread.

So another warm day ahead with temperatures in the upper 70s can be expected with winds from the west southwest. Some of these wind gusts can easily get over 20 miles per hour so watch out for that - it's safe to say it won't be the best day to take the boat out.  Showers should be up and out of here by the evening and we will be left with partly clouds skies.

The sun returns for the weekend which is the good news - and temperatures will cool down a bit back into the lower 70s but still VERY pleasant.

Disneyland Weather Report for January 26 from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/26/2012)

Wow, what a day!  Did you like it?  Hope so - because there's more where that came from - A LOT more!

I'm going to keep this short because there's really not much to say.  Expect sunshine through the weekend with a really warm day tomorrow (low to mid 80s) with a slightly cooler rest of the week into the weekend.  Highs in the upper 70s through Sunday with lows in the upper 40s to even low 50s.

Walt Disney World Weather Report January 26 from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/26/2012)

Always an interesting occurrence when both parks on both coasts have almost the same kind of weather.  Could it be a little bit of Disney magic?

Well that stops today.  If you are visiting Disneyland, if it's the World - well maybe you can get a last minute flight! Don't get me wrong it won't be awful today, but changes are afoot.  Winds will start to shift to be coming more from the south as a cool front approaches so we WILL have another warm day but we will also start to see some clouds and a shower or two is NOT out of the question especially as we head into the evening hours.

Friday looks to be the rainier of the next few days, in fact a thundershower is not out of the question.

Highs today will be close to 81 and Friday in the upper 70s (mostly due to cloud cover and showers).  The sun comes back out Saturday and we'll still see temperatures above average for this time of year, but a reinforcing cold front will bring temps about where they should be on Sunday, though it will still be sunny (with about a high of 72).

Looking into the future, expect a moderating trend temperature wise as we head into next week.

Disneyland Weather Report for January 25 from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/25/2012)

The heat is on in Southern California - what a difference a few days can make huh?  Temperatures will soar into the upper 70s today and may reach into the 80s on Thursday!  Sunny skies will prevail all the way through the weekend!

I wish I had something more exciting to say - but why would you want me to?

A cool down can be expected early next week - so enjoy this glimpse of summer while it lasts :-)!

Walt Disney World Weather Report January 25 from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/25/2012)

A slight change to the forecast today as it looks like you better enjoy the rain free sun while you can today.  Warmer temperatures will continue throughout Central Florida and highs will get into the upper 70s as we flirt with 80.

Things get a little trickier though for Thursday.

Basically winds are going to pick up and could gust as high as about 20 miles per hour and it looks like some clouds will roll in so we can't rule out a shower ahead of our next disturbance.  It looks like the cold front will push through Friday giving us another chance of showers throughout the day and cooler more seasonable weather returns for the weekend into early next week.

Disneyland Weather Report for January 24 from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/24/2012)

Alright enough of that negativity right?  Are you tired of the bad weather?  Well Mother Nature comes to save the day (and just in time for my trip out West I might add).  The cold will finally get up and out of here and we should be left with mostly sunny conditions throughout the week along with a gradual warming trend.

Highs today will top out right around 70 but we may jump close to 10 degrees when we are talking about highs for Wednesday (and yes that means we are talking about highs close to 80).  Originally some models were indicating we may get into the mid 80s by Thursday but now it looks like highs should stay somewhere between the mid and upper 70s through the start of the weekend.

Lows will continue to drop into the mid to upper 40s for the next few evenings.

The extended forecast is keeping things nice right through the start of next week so let's keep our fingers crossed shall we?!

Walt Disney World Weather Report January 24 from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/24/2012)

While plenty of the country had an awful day - from winter weather to severe weather - Mother Nature headed to Central Florida on vacation and bestowed a gorgeous day onto the happiest place on earth and she must have decided to extend her little vacation because the hits keep on coming!

Once again if you wake up really early in the morning to make it to rope drop you may see some fog out there but if that is the worst thing I can say - you aren't doing too badly at all.  Temperatures will continue their upward trend and make it into the upper 70s today and tomorrow and by the time we get to Thursday highs in the low 80s are not out of the question.  Lows will only dip down into the the upper 50s tomorrow evening and we may not get below 60 Wednesday and Thursday even right before the sun comes up.

Now it's a bit too early to tell what we can expect for the end of the week as its looking like Friday may get a little dicey - as some showers are now in the forecast.  Temperatures will come down a bit as well but will stay slightly above average into the weekend.

All in all if you live in or are visiting Central Florida make sure you get outside for the rest of America who can't :-)!

Disneyland Weather Report for January 23 from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/23/2012)

YUCK!  Does that about cover it?  Just YUCK ... that's your forecast.

After a less than stellar weekend, the YUCK continues into the start of the new week.  We will struggle to get out of the 50s and the rain will continue to fall as yet another system rolls in.  Winter weather isn't out of the question as you get up in elevation as well so watch out for that.

As far as visiting Disney goes - how about you wait until Tuesday ... or better yet Wednesday.  Because as bad as things have been the last few days Mother Nature must understand because she's about to do something about it.  A big change is coming and I think you will like it.

Once we get through the rain - the sun looks to return Tuesday with highs in the upper 60s, but then the real fun begins and the rest of the week looks pretty nice.

Sunny skies and highs around 80 are what we are looking at Wednesday and Thursday - so make sure you didn't lose those sunglasses and get ready to carry this HOPEFULLY right on into the next weekend.

Walt Disney World Weather Report January 23 from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/23/2012)

If the only thing you have to complain about when it comes to the weather is a little bit of fog - I think you are doing pretty A-OK!  Once we get rid of the morning fog another nice day is in store for anyone lucky enough to be visiting Walt Disney World today - and that trend looks to continue right into the entire week!

IN fact it's a pretty boring forecast if you want me to just come out and say it!  That said, boring usually translates into good from a vacationer standpoint.

Expect sunny skies (with some clouds in the afternoon) with temperatures considerably above average for this time of year today.  Highs should top out in the upper 70s and by mid week we will be flirting with 80.

Lows won't get all that low either with the lowest temperatures right before sunrise not getting much below the upper 50s.  THIS is why this time of year is my favorite time to visit the parks because the weather is great and the crowds are much less.

Disneyland Weather Report for the January 20th Weekend from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/20/2012)

OK so the long and short of it is - this is a weekend to hit that Redbox - or empty your DVR.  It may not be a great night for the late World of Color Show either because rain is going to be moving in and it's just going to not be one of those postcard Southern California weekends.

You will wake up to fog and then you MAY (slight MAY) see some sunshine before clouds continue to build into the area at which point the showers start and then the rain and then ... well ... Saturday isn't looking so hot either and you know how people drive in the rain.  So if you don't need to be out - don't.

High temperatures today will be somewhere in the low to mid 60s today and the low 60s Saturday.  We may see a break in the bad weather Sunday but I don't want to give you false hope, but you may see some sunshine before MORE rain comes for Monday.

Now let me tell you - it's not all bad news though because as we head into next week things are going to get much better as the sun comes out on Tuesday and temperatures warm up - way up into the mid 70s by the time we get to mid week so stand strong Cali.

Walt Disney World Weather Report for January 20th Weekend from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/20/2012)

A rather cool night will lead to a really nice day and it only gets better from there.  Mother Nature is smiling upon Walt Disney World that is for sure!

Patchy fog is possible early this morning but, highs on your Friday will be a seasonable 76ish and they will only go higher from there.  Expect plenty of sunshine though some clouds could roll through the closer you get to the coast and afternoon clouds can be expected regardless.  Winds are going to be shifting through the day today and eventually will be coming from the south which is going to continue those nice warm temperatures for you.

The real fun starts when we end up almost 10 degrees above average by the time we roll to Sunday when we could hit 80!  Plenty of sunshine is the forecast and there's not much more for me to say other than I hope everyone has a great weekend and posts some pictures for us less unfortunate souls!

Disneyland Weather Report for January 20th from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/19/2012)

I've said this a couple of times already this week but if you haven't listened please do - get out and enjoy the sunshine because we aren't setting up for the best Southern California weekend I will tell you that.

While temperatures remain a bit below where they should be this time of year - generally sunny skies will be overhead today.  Temperatures should top out in the mid 60s today and tomorrow and then here come the clouds.

Clouds look to move in sometime Friday afternoon into the evening - I wouldn't expect rain just yet but you'll see some clouds rather high up moving in.  Showers may begin Friday night hopefully sometime after rush hour and may continue through the better part of the weekend.

High temperatures will remain in the mid 60s under cloudy/showery skies.

A chance of rain continues into your Monday, but it looks like things will clear out and start to warm up a bit by the time we get to Tuesday.  So update those Netflix queues and get ready for a relaxing weekend ... inside.

Walt Disney World Weather Report for January 20th from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/19/2012)

Well we managed to make it to 77 yesterday for a high temperature under an awful lot of cloud cover ... in case you were wondering that is considerably above "average" for this time of year - but don't worry we'll make up for it today.  A cold front passed last evening bringing a few spotty showers with it and shifting winds.  That said, this cool down won't be anything like what we went through last week and it won't last very long either.

Any clouds should get up and out of here by the time rush hour ends and all in all it will be a pretty nice day.  Plenty of sunshine will keep the parks a beautiful place to be, BUT we might not make it into the 70s as official highs call for temperatures in the upper 60s.  A rather cool evening lies ahead so bring that jacket if you are hanging out late night to see some pyro and magic as low temperatures get back down into the really low 50s.  Winds will be relatively light from the north at the start of the day and shift to east later in the day.

Like I said that cool down will be short lived and we'll be back up into the 70s to end the week out and by the time we get to Saturday guess what - we'll be flirting with 80 so anyone lucky enough to be heading down to Florida this weekend is going to love that news (especially if you are coming from the north).

Warmer than average temperatures continue right into early next week and we could even make it into the 80s on Monday - which would be about TEN degrees warmer than it should be this time of year...get outside and enjoy it AND TAKE PICTURES FOR US POOR UNFORTUNATE SOULS :-)!

Disneyland Weather Report for January 18th from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/18/2012)

I'm just happy to write about something other than rain and fog so here I go ... here comes the sun - there I said it.  Yes the sun should shine today and while it may not be the nicest day you've ever seen temperatures should get into the mid 60s under plenty of sunshine which is a good thing!  I say this is a good thing especially because the weekend is not looking so good as I eluded to during yesterdays forecast so you will want to enjoy today through Friday as it looks like rain is moving in for the weekend.

Expect high temperatures into the mid 60s today through Friday and then expect showers Saturday and Sunday as it stands now.

Walt Disney World Weather Report for January 18th from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/18/2012)

OK I am going to keep this brief because this is one of those silly Mother Nature days where she wants us to look just a lil silly...you see the cold front that was heading towards Walt Disney World slowed down considerably and what will happen now is that as it approaches the area it just isn't packing much of a punch at all whatsoever.  So good news for you = not great news for my accuracy in forecasting ... frustrating to say the least.  Now don't let your guard down just yet because there is still a chance for showers Wednesday it just looks like they will come a little later in the day if at all.  Temperatures will be well above "normal" and will get into the mid to upper 70s.  Those shower chances continue into Wednesday night but things look pretty good for the rest of the week.

Lows Wed night into Thursday morning should only get into the low 50s and then on Thursday I expect the sun to return though there may be some clouds in the morning.  It will be a cold front - so it will be cooler but the official high still calls for 70 on Thursday and then the good news is that we rebound nicely into the end of the week and weekend and we are flirting with 80s by Saturday (translation - a far cry from last week :-))!

Disneyland Weather Report for January 17th from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/17/2012)

Whew - well we can only get better from yesterday right?  We didn't even manage to get out of the 50s yesterday with an official high of 58 degrees.  So I can safely say I have some better news as far as the rest of the week is concerned.

Clouds should decrease throughout the day - though we may still have our fair share on your way to work or the parks today.  Highs today should get back to around 60 degrees which is still a bit cool for this time of year but it looks like things will improve as we get our way through the week.  A cool overnight tonight with lows dropping back into the low 40s - but the rest of the week looks OK (though a bit cool) - expect high temperatures in the mid 60s Wednesday through Friday.  Looks like clouds may increase by the end of the week and we may see some showers by Friday night but it is a bit too early to say with much certainty ... (hey - at least I'm honest).

Enjoy the sunshine while you can though because as I eluded to above - the weekend may not be the best you've seen in a while (not to be Debbie Downer or anything).

Walt Disney World Weather Report for January 17th from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/17/2012)

Well we finally did it - we got into the 70s today - in fact we did it right before two o'clock when we topped out at 72 degrees officially.  Incidentally that's just about where we should be this time of year as the average/normal temperature is 71 - (if you care last year we hit 73 on the same day) ... now that I've filled your head with a bunch of "useless" information how about that forecast :-)!

Another nice day (even warmer) lies ahead for today so keep on smiling ... but it enjoy it because some rain could be on the horizon.  Today expect some sunshine with relatively light southerly winds and a temperature in the mid (to upper) 70s ... let's go with 77ish.  I'd expect even a few more clouds in the afternoon as our next little disturbance tries to move its way into the area for Wednesday.  Like I said those clouds will roll in tomorrow night which will keep temperatures a little warmer than they have been lately and we'll stay in the upper 50s for an overnight low.

SO things get a little more interesting as we go on through the period ... high pressure continues to slide to the east over the Atlantic which is going to allow a cold/cool front to approach ... latest model runs have slowed this thing down a bit so rain/showers may get here a little later than they were originally forecast.  That said, Wednesday still looks to be your "not so great day of the week" as the front will pass Wednesday night into early Thursday morning and the sun should return (baring any additional slow down).  This front originally wasn't going to pack too much of a punch but now it looks like Thursday highs will dip back into the upper 60s with overnight lows getting back into the 40s.  We rebound by the end of the week with more sun and temperatures back into the low 70s for your Friday.

Disneyland Weather Report for the January 13th Weekend from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/13/2012)

Friday the 13th is anything but unlucky for those of you in Southern California today!  Temperatures will once again be above average for this time of year and we'll top out in the mid to upper 70s under generally sunny skies.

Get out there and enjoy that sun while you can though because some changes are coming towards the end of your weekend.  Saturday proves to be a good morning into early afternoon but clouds will be moving in during the evening and some showers could start before the last showing of World of Color.  Showers continue overnight into Sunday and temperatures cool down into the mid 60s under some clouds.

Southern California is nothing if not resilient when it comes to the weather though and the sun returns in time for Martin Luther King Day though temperatures will still be a bit cool with highs topping out in the low 60s. Temperatures rebound nicely though and warm up from there until we are back into the 70s by the time we get to the middle of the week.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Walt Disney World Weather Report for the January 13th Weekend from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/13/2012)

Wow another warm day throughout Walt Disney World on Thursday - in fact our high temperature was significantly above average for this time of year and we managed to hit 77 ... well I hope you got your fill because we aren't going to get CLOSE to that today I can assure you.

A reinforcing cold front has pushed through by now and cold air is advecting in the WDW resort area and temperatures today for highs look to be about 15 degrees cooler than they were yesterday so we go from being above average to pretty far below.  High temperatures today will top out in the low 60s which isn't horrible, but if you are planning to walk around World Showcase tonight have at the very least a light jacket because lows will drop into the 40s pretty quickly once the sun goes down.  Saturday will be even COLDER than Friday and we'll struggle to hit 60 (though that is the official high temperature).  Lows will be even colder Saturday night than they were Friday as well so once again make sure you are prepared with plenty of layers if you are planning on being in the parks after sunset.

Things start to climb out of the cellar nicely though as we head into the weekend however and we warm back up to just about "normal" for your Martin Luther King Day with a high right around 70.  The good news is that there should be plenty of sunshine throughout the period so that's good.  Enjoy your weekend everyone.

PS - Happy Friday the 13th - it is advisable to ride Tower of Terror multiple times today :-).

Jeremy Jordan to Recreate Role of Jack Kelly in Disney's Newsies on Broadway - (DL) (1/13/2012)

Jeremy Jordan, who created the role of rebellious newsboy leader Jack Kelly in Newsies last fall, will play the role when the show moves to Broadway’s Nederlander Theatre March 15th for a strictly limited 101 performance engagement.

Disneyland Weather Report for January 12th from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/12/2012)

Well that cool down wasn't so bad was it?  High temperatures will top out in the mid 70s today and warm from there so what do you have to complain about :-)?

Seriously high pressure will build back in after weakening a bit - and we are looking at warm temperatures today through it looks like Saturday though a cool down is coming for Sunday when temperatures for the hi drop down back into the upper 60s.

Lows throughout this little endeavor will get into the mid to low 40s most nights so if you are staying out late perhaps in Downtown Disney make sure you plan accordingly with that light jacket ... take heart though it will be colder in Orlando this weekend :-)!  See - the glass is always half full in the happiest place on earth!

Walt Disney World Weather Report for January 12th from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/12/2012)

Today will be a much better day than Wednesday.  Be thankful you weren't a little to the north as tornadoes were reported throughout the southeast.  Sun should come out today and temperatures are forecast to get into the 70s, but the winds will be picking up.  The key here to understand is that a secondary cold front is going to push through which is going to cool things off in a BIG way.

When I say big way I mean if you are reading this and you are about to embark on a WDW vacation you better pack that light or medium jacket because temperatures are going to be VERY cool this weekend!

Thursday Hi in the 70s - Friday Hi in the low 60s and then Saturday we will struggle to make 60 though the official forecast is 60.  Lows get down in the the low 40s so please come prepared.

Disneyland Weather Report for January 11th from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/11/2012)

Well sometimes I wish I could make the forecast more exciting - but that's why you live or are visiting southern California right?

Expect to wake up to some patchy fog (more dense closer to the coast).  Fog should lift by 9-10 latest.  Highs look to get a little warmer than original forecast yesterday.  I would expect temperatures in the low 70s today as high pressure weakens.  The cool down that is being forecast will not be as pronounced and we'll actually bounce our temperatures back closer to the mid 70s by Friday.  Highs look to once again cool a couple of degrees (but stay in the low 70s) Saturday and Sunday.

Overnight lows will drop into the low to mid 40s - so always have that light jacket handy if staying out late.

Walt Disney World Weather Report for January 11th from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/11/2012)

The fun is officially over Walt Disney World - here comes the rain.  If you are a local and you are reading this, today is not the day to hit the parks.  If you are on vacation and have no choice - buck up, grab the ponchos and enjoy the shorter lines.

The front that has been lingering across the southeast is finally about to push through and ahead of it here comes some showers.  There shouldn't be anything severe - but some moderate rain could fall at times and a rumble of thunder is not out of the question.

Official temperatures from the national weather service look to top out once again in the mid 70s though with all the cloud cover that may be tough to attain.  Showers will clear out overnight but I can't guarantee clear skies by the time Illuminations hits at Epcot - that said by then the heavy stuff should be through.  Clearing overnight leads to a pretty nice day on Thursday with temperatures once again getting into the low to some would say mid 70s ... that said, a reinforcing cold front without a lot of moisture will be pushing through during the day and the real cool down begins Friday through the weekend.

Expect highs not to get out of the 60s Friday through at least Sunday and lows will drop into the mid 40s so if you are heading to WDW on vacation make sure you pack a light or medium jacket because it will get chilly once the sun goes down.

Disneyland Weather Report for January 10th from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/10/2012)

I sometimes wish I could make things a little more exciting for all of you visiting Disneyland - but that is likely one of the reasons you are going there in the first place.  So here goes - another warm day is in store as high pressure is still in effect.  That high will break down though and allow some cooler weather to move in the next couple of days.  So expect highs right around 70 today.  Patchy and potentially dense fog will develop over night and we'll be a little cooler on Wednesday and Thursday with temperatures in the mid to maybe lower 60s as a trough pushes up the coast.  High pressure builds back in for the end of the week setting up a really nice Friday as we soar back into the 70s for highs.  Another little cool down as we head into Martin Luther King weekend.

Walt Disney World Weather Report for January 10th from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/10/2012)

The gorgeous weather continues ... for one more day (insert ominous music here) ... how's that for foreshadowing?  Another glorious day is in store for Magic Kingdom and Orlando in general so if you came here for the marathon and hung around - good for you - you know how to pick em.  Another warm day is in store with temperatures in the mid to dare I say upper 70s with plenty of sunshine though some higher level clouds will be moving in throughout the day.

The changes start tonight into Wednesday.  A stalled frontal boundary which has been hanging out over the southeast is about to make its move finally and that means it's pushing our way.  So some showers will start after midnight (1-2ish) and then get a little heavier throughout the day Wednesday.  Temperatures will likely remain warm, and I'm not expecting anything severe but it won't be the best park day on Wednesday.  If you are visiting and have no choice - bring the poncho and enjoy the shorter lines.  Winds will be blowing as well and could gust as high as 30 or even 35 miles per hour.

We clear out overnight Wednesday into Thursday - but changes are coming.  Current models are showing another warm day Thursday but I think they are being a bit aggressive as cooler air builds in behind the front ... either way Thursday will be your warmest day in a while as we cool down through the weekend.  So if the temps are in the low 70s Thursday they won't make it out of the 60s Friday or Saturday and lows will dip back into the 40s so make sure you have some kind of jacket handy if you are in the parks after dark.

Brazil’s Costa Establishes New Streak at Dramatic Walt Disney World Marathon - (DL) (1/9/2012)

Brazilian runner Fredison Costa did it again, holding off his heavily-favored countryman Adriano Bastos on Sunday to win his second straight Walt Disney World Marathon presented by Cigna. Costa waged a fierce battle with the 7-time champion Bastos throughout the 26.2 mile race through Disney’s four theme parks – Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios – before narrowly winning. Costa crossed the finish line in 2:19:01 – just 14 seconds ahead of Bastos (2:19:15), who had won six Disney Marathons in a row before Costa’s back-to-back feat.

Disneyland Weather Report for January 9th from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/9/2012)

Hopefully you hung onto your hats yesterday - wow - wind and red flag advisories were posted all day. Not expecting as much wind today but I am expecting another warm day with highs in the mid 70s (which is a bit high for this time of year).  Mother Nature will correct herself however as a trough moves in for Tuesday and mid week which will cool things off.

How cool will it get - trust me your friends in the northeast and far north will still be envious but we will lose aboout 8 degrees or so when it comes to the highs and I don't expect we'll get out of the 60s.  Expect a high of about 67 and a low in the mid 40s and then here comes the fog.  Watch out for that very typical fog (especially the closer you get to the coast) we have come to expect from Southern California.  After a couple of cooler days high pressure retakes control and we warm back up to about 70 on Thursday and may pick up another degree for Friday.

Walt Disney World Weather Report for January 9th from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/9/2012)

I can tell you this - if we learned anything from this weekend we learned that Mother Nature is a huge fan of endurance running events :-).  As a runner (or one who pretends to be) I can't think of better conditions than we saw for the race weekend.  Cool temperatures in the morning and then plenty of sun to enjoy the parks and loosen those muscles for the afternoon.  Congratulations to everyone who participated and maybe I'll see some of you next month for the Princess which I'm way behind on my training for!

Conditions from the weekend will continue right into the start of your week - so expect a cool start with temperatures in the low 50s and then we'll warm right back up into the mid (perhaps even upper) 70s (depending on afternoon cloud cover).  One thing to watch out for will be patchy fog (could be dense in some areas) so if you are driving to the parks or even to work - allow a little extra time just in case.  That said, the fog shouldn't be a concern much after 7-8am.

Sunny skies look to continue into Tuesday but this is where some models are calling for different things.  I am going to get you emotionally prepared for the potential for showers on Wednesday (starting sometime Tuesday night) - I won't call for a washout but if you have some ponchos - pack em - you may need them at the park - but since I always like to think the glass is half full you may see less lines (even though this is one of the best times of year to attend as crowds are usually very low).

Things improve later in the week to end it as the sun should return Thursday and Friday with highs in the low 70s.

Disneyland Weather Report for the January 5th Weekend from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/6/2012)

Another warm day today but NOTHING like yesterday.  Southern California was SMASHING high temperature records all over the place on Thursday, so today let's get back to normal shall we?

High temperatures will get back into the 70s but they will be the low 70s and temperatures will drop rather quickly into the mid 40s tonight. The more important thing here is if you are planning on hitting a beach as there is a high surf advisory in effect and I saw some of the waves rolling through Hawaii a few days ago – they are no joke … so be careful and watch for rip tides if you are planning on partaking.  Always swim/surf with a buddy.

Temperatures will cool even further tomorrow when we get into the mid 60s only to warm up again on Sunday with highs in the upper 70s.  No real good chance for precipitation to mention even heading into next week.  It will be windy later on today.

Walt Disney World Weather Report for the January 6th Weekend from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/6/2012)

So you say you wonder why you can't seem to stop friends and family from visiting during the "cold" winter months?  Today my friends is why your friends always seem to have some extra vacation time right about now they didn't use from last year.

Another really nice day in store as we continue to bounce back from what was the beginning of the week.

Temperatures SHOULD get into the 70s today – but barely – the warm up continues into the weekend so don't worry.  What WILL happen is that as night turns into morning – some fog will develop.

There is a little news flash for my runners tomorrow morning – patchy fog IS possible (dare I say probable) for the beginning of the run.  Lows will get down into the low 50s (so not horrible for the starting line) - but you figure the lowest temperature of the day is going to come right around when that gun goes off so be prepared.

Same scenario is actually in play for race day Sunday when it may be a degree or two warmer but the fog could be a little denser as well that early.

The warm up continues through the weekend into early next week as temperatures soar into the mid to even upper 70s.

Disneyland Weather Report for January 5th from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/5/2012)

Wow I have to tell you – well I likely DON'T have to tell you because you already know – it has been a bit WARM in here for winter!  That is about to change but since we'll keep the glass half full it really looks like a nice weekend is setting up with more "normal" temperatures.

Highs once again look to soar into the 80s – the mid 80s in fact (while the official NWS forecast calls for 84 I am hesitant to say it will get THAT warm).  Either way, it's short sleeve weather throughout the parks as long as the sun is out.  With a dewpoint in the low 30s (I.e. - the air is dry), once that sun goes down we cool off in a hurry and lows tonight will drop back down into the 40s so plan accordingly if you are going to be outside all day into the evening.

So high pressure will weaken a bit and a trough will move through cooling things off for tomorrow into the weekend but highs tomorrow should still make it to the low 70s.  Patchy fog can be expected every morning, but the sun will eventually come out.  Saturday will be our coolest day with highs only in the mid 60s and then we'll rebound a bit on Sunday and perk back up into the low 70s.

Walt Disney World Weather Report for January 5th from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/5/2012)

The heat is on isn't it? Well OK that may be a slight exaggeration but after the last 48 hours or so – it is going to feel like you've been whisked away to a tropical paradise. Temperatures soar back into the mid 60s todays for highs and even the lows will be bearable (Hoop Dee Do reference) as we stay in the mid 40s late tonight into the morning hours.

Temperatures will actually continue to warm through the weekend when tomorrow we flirt with 70 and by Saturday and Sunday we'll stick around the mid 70s with clouds and sun.  AS the temperatures go up so does the cloud cover so expect more flat out sun today than over the weekend but things will still look nice.  Cool dry air gives you those gorgeous bluebird days over the castle – and in fact I retweeted a beautiful picture from Magic Kingdom yesterday with a wonderful looking sky!

As it is the "Dry" season throughout Florida I don't expect any appreciable shower activity through the weekend though some models are suggesting some rain by mid week next week – it is a bit too early to go out that far and we'll revisit as we get closer.

It's safe to say Blizzard Beach will have plenty of people clamoring to get in this weekend!

Disneyland Weather Report for January 4th from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/4/2012)

The heat is on and stays on and on – all of the warmth Mother Nature should be sending to your sister in Orlando is being kept by you as unseasonable warmth continues for Disneyland and unseasonable cold continues for Disney World.

High temperatures once again will soar into the 80s (and the mid 80s are not out of the question).  Weak offshore flow will keep us warm through tomorrow though it will still feel nice temperature wise through the weekend it looks like.

Low temps tonight may not get below 50 and then here comes the morning fog once more.

The cool down comes Thursday into Friday when Thursday we will have highs in the 80s and Friday they will only get into the 70s.

Walt Disney World Weather Report for January 4th from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/4/2012)

Ok now everyone feel free to let out a collective sigh of relief … go ahead … I'll wait.

Yes it seems as if we are "out of the woods" as they say with the EXTREME cold weather – that's not to say it isn't cold as I type this (40 in fact as of 9am) but still the worst is over and temperatures will warm up nicely into the 50s and could approach 60 with plenty of sunshine out there today.  If we don't make it to 60 today rest assured that we will tomorrow – so there is the good news.  The not so good news – well it will get cold again tonight JUST NOT AS COLD as last night … see how I did that … the glass is half full.  So please be safe with your pets – bring them inside if you can because the temperatures WILL drop like a rock as soon as the sun goes down – eventually getting down back into the mid (to perhaps upper) 30s.

Long range we will continue to warm up and by the time we get to the weekend it looks like we'll get into the mid 70s and it will be business as usual throughout the happiest place on earth.  We look to remain dry as well with plenty of sunshine – a nice golf weekend if you ask me.

Blizzard Beach looks to remain closed today and if you have reservations for the Spirit of Aloha shows, you may want to call ahead.  They were cancelled yesterday and it would appear they could be cancelled again as that 8 PM show could be very uncomfortable.

Disneyland Weather Report for January 3rd from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/3/2012)

Wow it is not looking or feeling a lot like winter at all out here!  We will flirt with 80 today and likely break through that 80 degree barrier by tomorrow with plenty of sunshine to go around.

The big concern this morning (as it often is) are the areas of dense fog … this is diminishing as I write this and by 9-10am we should be in the clear (literally and figuratively).

High pressure as I eluded to above is helping give us unseasonably warm weather that will stick with us likely through Thursday at which point a cool down can be expected.  Lows tonight/am will likely barely make it into the 40s and it isn't out of the question to stay around 50. Long range forecast for the weekend shows nice conditions with temperatures around 70 so not too bad for this time of year!

Walt Disney World Weather Report for January 3rd from @WDW_Weather - (DL) (1/3/2012)

Let me start (brighten) your day by running off the list of warnings and advisories in effect shall we:

  • Freeze Warning
  • Red Flag Warning
  • Wind Chill Advisory
  • Lake Wind Advisory
  • And then there's a Hazardous Weather Outlook thrown in just for laughs!

I tell you this much it pays to be a weather guy because I was able to pay off Mother Nature to give me some nice weather while I was in town only to leave yesterday morning to fly back into SNOW!  So be thankful you didn't have to see any white flakes fall from the sky to bring in the new year!  Anyway it's safe to say that Blizzard Beach will be closed today and tomorrow (I am pretty sure about tomorrow but I know for sure about today).  I am sorry for the people from Green Bay who would actually WANT to go to a waterpark in this cold – but for the most part I don't think you would want to be there today anyway.

In fact make sure you bundle up wherever you go because today, while there will be sunshine – as I type this at 9am it still isn't even 40 degrees.  I do not expect temperatures to get out of the 50s today and tonight/tomorrow morning it will get down right around freezing (I.e.-32) for a low and you will need more than that light jacket to get through if you plan on walking around the parks late tonight.

We bounce back pretty good through the week and by Thursday are back into the mid 60s and by the weekend we should see plenty of sunshine and we'll be back into the 70s for highs.
