Walt Disney World Weather Report for May 25 from @WDW_Weather

I honestly cannot believe that by the time you read this we could have yet another named storm in the Atlantic BEFORE the official start of the Atlantic Hurricane season while we already have our second named storm in the Pacific.  Let us hope this is not a sign of things to come.  Speaking of predictions and things to come - the NOAA has officially gone on the record as saying they expect a "near normal" season in the Atlantic.  I will say this - while models are still coming into better agreement anyone planning on heading to the beach this weekend on the Atlantic side may want to make plans to head to the Gulf side.  This circulation regardless of further development may be felt along the southeastern coast sometime this holiday weekend.  I will be updating my Twitter account @WDW_Weather more often than usual on a weekend should anything new and important come up.

Closer to the parks and Central interior Florida - I do not expect any real effects from this system today.  We topped out at 90 yesterday and I'm expecting that again today.  This temperature is just about where we should be this time of year as the average high today would be 89.  The chance for showers and thunderstorms increase as we head through the weekend and I am going to back off temperatures a bit because of expanded cloud cover.  Some of this may change depending on where this developing circulation decides to go.

Other than that I'd expect temps to top out around 90 and at least get into the upper 80s all weekend.  There will be a chance for showers each day with I think your best chance for rain on Sunday.

Walt Disney World Weather Report for May 24 from @WDW_Weather

I am finally almost moving back to my place after Mother Nature kicked me out in the form of a sinkhole, so I apologize for the lack of forecasts and the brevity of those forecasts that did make it - we should be back to normal tomorrow and I will give you an excellent Memorial Day weekend wrap up!  Promise!

I am not saying we are in the summer pattern just yet but I am basically saying it looks like we are in the summer pattern.  Temperatures will top out around 90 degrees for the next 5 days or so with just a slight chance for afternoon showers each and every day.

Thunderstorms chances increase as we head towards the end of the weekend into next week but lets cross that bridge when we come to it.

Walt Disney World Weather Report for May 23 from @WDW_Weather

It promises to continue to be warmer than average pretty much all through the week so if you thought getting up into the 90s yesterday was a fluke, think again.  In fact with even more sunshine expected it looks to be even warmer this afternoon than it was yesterday.  Expect plenty of sunshine and highs in the low 90s today through Friday basically. Temperatures may fluctuate locally a couple of degrees based on cloud cover which looks to increase just a little bit after today.  Your chances of experiencing showers and thunderstorms increase as you head south through the forecast area.

Walt Disney World Weather Report for May 21 from @WDW_Weather

Well a very early start to the tropical season (the Atlantic Hurricane season doesn't officially start until the first of June) led to some weather excitement this past weekend.  Luckily the largest effects on land look to be rip currents felt as far south as Jacksonville - so if a beach day on the Atlantic Coast is in your future please watch yourself and always use the buddy system.

Closer to the the mouse house things are looking rather nice today.  All the unsettled weather from last week and into the weekend seems to have given way to a warm dare I say hot May day with highs reaching into the upper 80s.  As it stands right now today looks to be the driest day and thunderstorm chances increase as we head through the week.

Temperatures actually build as we head through the week and we should be in the 90s for much of it.

Walt Disney World Weather Report for the May 18th Weekend from @WDW_Weather

Hey guys again - I apologize for the lateness of this update but - this sinkhole is really keeping a brother down and I still do not have power so it has been an interesting week to say the least.

The widespread showers and thunderstorms we've been seeing the last couple of days should die down a BIT today - but there is enough moisture about to once again fire up scattered storms this afternoon.  That said, there is enough DRY air to inhibit much of the activity until you get considerably further south.

Expect highs to be in the upper 80s all weekend long.  Chance for afternoon thunderstorms increases just a bit as we get into Saturday and Sunday.

Not too exciting but hey at least I'm not talking about a potential tropical system this weekend like I thought I might have been earlier in the week :-)!  See - the glass is half full!

Walt Disney World Weather Report for May 17 from @WDW_Weather

Another interesting weather day setting up as a pesky trough hangs around.  The difference between today will be that there should be enough clearing this morning to allow temperatures to warm up which doesn't bode well for increased coverage of afternoon thunderstorms.  While it was a dreary rainy day yesterday the severe stuff was kept at bay because of all the morning cloud cover.

Highs will top out in the mid to upper 80s - and it looks like that trough will stick around to give us a chance for showers through the weekend.  Right now it looks like there is a slightly better day in store tomorrow with a little less coverage of storms.

Sorry for the brevity once again due to a sinkhole my internet is not where it should be.

Walt Disney World Weather Report for May 16 from @WDW_Weather

Once again thunderstorms appear likely today and even into tomorrow.  Some seriously severe weather impacted areas near Daytona yesterday so this is a pattern everyone needs to be aware of.  Looks like most of the morning will be fair - we could see patches of sunshine before noon as temperatures fire up into the mid 80s though the more sun then the more storms that WILL fire up.  Thanks to some high clouds in the area - we may limit heating just a bit (which would be good).

The pattern looks to continue into tomorrow but we can expect a little more sunshine.  Thunderstorms can once again be expected sometime after noon though later afternoon looks more likely.

It looks like shower activity will diminish just a bit as we head into the weekend but the chance for thunder is still very possible.

Could the wet season be upon us :-)?

Walt Disney World Weather Report for May 15 from @WDW_Weather

I apologize for the lack of updates while storms were causing some problems throughout Central Florida.  Mother Nature decided to cause some problems in my back yard as well and thanks to a tremendous amount of rain over night – a sinkhole opened and swallowed the electric transformer that provides power to my place.  So these are going to be lean and mean this week – and for that like I said, I apologize.

Most models are in agreement that today will be the wettest day of the week with thunderstorms at some point during the day likely.  Plan on waking up to mostly cloudy skies and then soon after noon expect some showers to start – though I wouldn’t rule out that precipitation getting here sooner rather than later.

Highs are forecasted to make it into the mid 80s but with all the clouds they may top out in the low 80s depending on those environmental factors.  Lows will barely drop into the 60s and then rebound again back up towards 90 thanks to the added sunshine that is expected for Wednesday.

Expect highs in the upper 80s for the rest of the week.

And just when you put the thought of tropical weather out of your mind the Eastern Pacific Tropical Season started a day early with the official naming of Tropical Storm Aletta.  The official start for the Eastern Pacific season is May 15th while the Atlantic Season officially starts June 1.

Towards the end of last week a few computer models even had the Atlantic Season firing up a bit early but later runs have backed off on that (which is good news because Florida looked to potentially be impacted).  Should something form now, it will likely head straight out to sea.

Tropical weather is something everyone should be aware of when planning a Disney vacation in the summer.  This is one of the most fascinating parts of meteorology and why I became involved in the first place so if you are looking for up to the minute tropical weather when it is relevant follow me on Twitter this season @WDW_Weather.

Walt Disney World Weather Report for the May 4th Weekend from @WDW_Weather

Well we did it – we sure did – managed to hit the big nine zero yesterday and it looks like we’ll do it again today and the official high may actually top that by a degree!  Going officially for 91 today under mostly sunny skies and keeping that mention of a thundershower out of the forecast but that will change as we head into the weekend.  That said it looks like the sea breeze boundaries could collide somewhere west of the city of Orlando so we can’t rule out that shifting a bit.

Similar conditions to what we’ve seen the last couple of days look to last right on through Monday with highs in the upper 80s to even 90.  The only difference is that as we go into the weekend it looks like we’ll have to pop up the chance for a pop up thundershower or two in the afternoon.  Does it feel like summer yet J?

Looking ahead to Sunday it does look like a frontal boundary may make things a little less stable in the atmosphere meaning that Sunday afternoon does look like the best bet for a stray shower or two.  I will update latest model runs on Twitter like I always do on weekends so if you are in the Central Florida area and want some updates follow me @WDW_Weather.

So … who’s going to be at Amway Arena tonight for the big Nickelback show  Anyone?  Have a  great weekend everyone – and Bottoms Up! (Speaking of how could I forget Happy Cinco friends - see ya in Epcot!)

Walt Disney World Weather Report for May 3 from @WDW_Weather

I’ve been trying not to type the “9” for the last few days but it looks like that might be rather futile today into tomorrow.  What do I mean?  Well after topping out at 88 yesterday afternoon it looks like we will beat that today and hit the big 9-0!  Think that is warm?  We could beat that temperature tomorrow.  Factor in the humidity with those rising dew points and please make sure you and the entire family stays hydrated at the parks this weekend!

It doesn’t look like there should be any widespread showers the next few days but with these warming temperatures and moist atmosphere as we head towards the weekend we have to tweak up the percentage for a shower or storm.  Lows will barely get into the 60s tomorrow morning.  Those winds are going to pick up again in the nighttime hours and could gust up towards about 20 miles per hour.

Mostly sunny skies continue tomorrow and it looks like it will be a great night for a show downtown!  So … who’s going to Nickelback tomorrow night J?

Walt Disney World Weather Report for May 2 from @WDW_Weather

Looks like yet another windy day is in store out there throughout Walt Disney World and the Sunshine State in general.  Winds could once again gust as high as 25 miles per hour so it could impact that wonderful character balloon in Downtown Disney so my advice would be to call ahead or check Twitter for updates.  Another warm day will be expected as highs stretch into the upper 80s (officially going for about 87), but we heat up even more tomorrow!

To give you an idea of where we are stacking up we managed to make it to 87 yesterday and the average high is roughly 85 – so we are doing a bit warmer than “normal”.  That said the record for yesterday was 96 and we hit that way back in 1917 so – I guess we’ve got a ways to go.  We won’t break any records today or tomorrow but it will likely be warmer as we head into the weekend.  In fact you can expect highs in the upper 80s through Sunday it looks like.

A few showers were rolling on shore yesterday afternoon around Melbourne and just kind of died out as they trekked too far inland to bother us though as you headed into South Florida you would have run into some shower activity on I-95.  Shower activity looks to pick up with the heat so afternoon showers are possible throughout the rest of the week.

This is kind of a throw away ling but lows will only get down into the mid 60s and that’s about as low as they will get and those lows will actually raise as we head into the weekend.

So it goes without saying to make sure you and your family are hydrated this weekend at the parks as we flirt with 90.

Walt Disney World Weather Report for April 30 from @WDW_Weather

You know what I think my work here is just about done, well at least until tropical season arrives.  Basically what you are going to hear from me for the next several days and weeks is going to be very similar each and every day (especially as we get to the end of the week here).  So here goes.

Expect plenty of sunshine this morning into early afternoon at which point you can expect a few more clouds to build.  Today I’m not expecting any widespread shower activity but as we head past midweek – afternoon thunderstorms may become more common.  One thing that will be present today are some windy conditions – windy to the point that the Downtown Disney balloon may not be taking flight or there could be periods of delays.  Those winds will continue into tomorrow.

So expect highs in the mid 80s today and tomorrow and then they may creep into the upper 80s by Wednesday throughout the rest of the week depending on cloud cover.  Like I said once we hit Wednesday we are looking at about a 20 percent chance of showers all the way through the weekend.  Lows will barely be low and will only get down into the upper 60s through the end of the week.   Leave the light jacket at home kids – it might as well be summer here in Central Florida!  Enjoy!

Walt Disney World Weather Report for the April 27th Weekend from @WDW_Weather

I am telling you right now, I’m getting more and more jealous with each day that goes by when I look at Central Florida weather.  Not only have highs been just a little bit above average the humidity has been tolerable (more so earlier in the week).  It looks like the dry conditions will continue once again today.  The fire weather watch will likely be extended into today so once again watch out for any open flames outside, especially as we run into the weekend and people are outside – because any fires that do spread will do so quickly so just be careful.  Humidity levels will build as we head into the weekend.

So in a nutshell a few degrees above average today through the weekend (with it actually getting more than a few degrees above average by the time we get to Sunday).  Today we should top out in the upper 80s and what a discrepancy as you head to either coast where the sea breezes will keep things considerably cooler (low 80s).  So the rest of the weekend looks about the same with mainly sunny skies and highs in the upper 80s.  I am not going to mention showers like I did yesterday but there’s always a chance an isolated shower may pop up.  Lows will get down into the mid 60s throughout the period.

Looks like a BIT of a cool down as we head into early next week.

Walt Disney World Weather Report for April 26 from @WDW_Weather

Not much to report here when it comes to the weather I have to be honest as it looks like a gorgeous couple of days throughout Walt Disney World!

A fire weather watch will once again be in effect for much of Thursday due to low relative humidity levels.  I’ve been talking about this for a couple of days now so please be careful.  Humidity and dewpoints will be coming up and I don’t expect another watch issued tomorrow or into the weekend.

Highs will once again jump from yesterday and top out in the mid to upper 80s and definitely be in the upper 80s tomorrow.  Like I said above as those winds shift to be coming from the south you will start to feel those humidity levels rise.

Lows won't be as low as they have been either as lows get down only into the low 60s tonight/tomorrow and then warm from there Friday night.

Right now it looks like things should stay dry with the first blurb of possible showers coming this weekend.  Enjoy!

Walt Disney World Weather Report for April 25 from @WDW_Weather

Relative humidity levels will once again be low today to a red flag warning may be extended.  Either way with the dry conditions the last few days, the low humidity and the windy conditions watch out for fire danger.

If you have been enjoying the cooler temperatures get your fill of them today.  We will top out in the low 80s, which are a couple of degrees below average for this time of year.  Lows will get down into the upper 50s but barely and that is about as low as they will get for a while and that is because a big warm up is coming out way.

Tomorrow temps will skyrocket into the mid 80s as humidity builds and we maintain sunny skies and those warm temperatures right into the weekend.  It looks like that chance for thunderstorms returns for Saturday but that’s just par for the course.  You can’t have hot afternoons throughout Walt Disney World without the chance for a shower.

Walt Disney World Weather Report for April 24 from @WDW_Weather

The forecast for the rest of this week is basically like one big long ride up to the top of Space Mountain.  Today promises to be one of the coolest days anyone in Central Florida has felt in a while with highs only in the mid 70s.  Yesterday we managed to only make it to 74 for an official high and that is 10 degrees below “Average”.  I expect a repeat performance today with the fire weather watch continuing through the day with really low relative humidity levels.

Now here is the key … if this return to “spring” if your cup of tea well take it all in now because an early summer is returning to Orlando by the time we get to the doorsteps of the weekend on Friday.  A gradual warming trend commences after today with highs in the low 80s tomorrow and then shooting right back up into the upper 80s Thursday and that humidity will be creeping up as well.

Lows tonight will be chilly though not QUITE as cold as we saw last evening.  That said, I expect lows to make it down into the low 50s.  Incidentally it will be another windy day in the parks so hang onto your hats.  I’d expect many animals on the safari to be on the warm rocks.

Walt Disney World Weather Report for April 23 from @WDW_Weather

Big changes are in store today into tomorrow as dewpoints come down along with temperatures.  In fact it looks to be dry enough to issue a fire weather watch throughout today into this evening so be careful outside.

Expect plenty of sunshine and plenty of wind.  Winds may gust to more than 20 miles an hour.  Highs will be in the upper 70s and when the sun goes down it will cool down quickly as lows get down into the low 50s.

Tuesday looks like it might be another windy day and highs may actually be even a little lower topping out in the mid 70s.  And that is when the cool down will finish as highs rebound back to 80 Wednesday with plenty of sunshine.

Walt Disney World Weather Report for the April 20th Weekend from @WDW_Weather

We definitely saw a little more thundershower activity yesterday and that trend continue right on into today as temperatures top out a few degrees above “normal”.  It also looks like I’m seeing a greater chance for more substantial rain tomorrow now than previously thought.  So keep those ponchos handy if you are planning on heading to the parks.

So expect southerly wind flow again today with a light breeze.  Highs should top out in the mid 80s but will depend on cloud cover and possible shower activity.  The real fun starts tomorrow like I said when showers are now likely throughout the not so sunshine state.  These showers could continue into Sunday as well so your next best day after today will be Monday (and I don’t mean to be Debbie Downer).  I’ll give updates on Twitter (@WDW_Weather) as things change and honestly when the next model runs run … this could change – I’ve still got hope for a decent Sunday but Saturday does look like the stay inside day.

Walt Disney World Weather Report for April 19 from @WDW_Weather

Well I haven’t had to write about sea breeze boundaries in a while and it looks like I might have to start!  I know this is going to sound like a geeky thing to say but I just love watching this happen on radar and at the time of this writing – it’s happening now J.  Sorry … OK I’m back.

With the increase in temperature as I have been saying for the last couple of days, you may have to deal with some afternoon thundershowers.  You see friends, if you have your cake and you eat it – well – this happens…I don’t know something like that.

Highs today will once again get into the mid 80s and then here comes that chance of thundershowers sometime after lunch (a late lunch mind you).  The forecast is essentially the same through the weekend, but a front WILL push through and if nothing else drop those dew points early next week.

Lows will only get down into the mid 60s tonight and actually wont go much lower than 68 by the time we get to Saturday night so … leave the jacket at home!
