It's Not Your Average Garden Party At the 7th Annual Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival

Garden enthusiasts as well as "budding" gardeners can dig into a popular Walt Disney World spring tradition by celebrating the power of the flower -- millennium-style -- at the seventh annual Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, April 28 - June 11, 2000.

The Disney gardening team of more than 700 horticulturists will prune, plant and fertilize right before your eyes. They'll share gardening tips, demonstrate new backyard planting ideas and showcase more than 30 million blooms from some 1,200 plant species from around the world.

To the delight of garden enthusiasts, wildly exotic floral displays grace Epcot from the newly decorated gardens at Spaceship Earth to each country around World Showcase Lagoon. Guests will delight in the bright colors of sunflowers, marigolds, orchids and roses.

Other flower power festival highlights:

  • Explore the inner secrets of the plant world.
  • Find out how to include garden bugs in your next meal.
  • Share the future of Gardening for Life.
  • Witness a wide variety of Disney topiary with many festival exclusives.
  • View an unprecedented bedding plant display.
  • Attend a variety of presentations and workshops hosted by a line-up of nationally known experts.
  • Take part in special events such as Art in the Garden Weekend (May 5-7), Mother's Day Invitational Flower Show (May 12-14) and Kids' Weekend (June 9-11).
  • See how you can grow edible flowers and use them in your favorite dish.
  • Discover an all-new kids' garden presented by the American Horticulture Society.
  • Check out the Flower Power concert series featuring bands of the '60's and '70's -- such as The Turtles, Davy Jones and Peter Noone.

In addition to the flowers and gardens, guests will find themselves in the middle of the year-long Walt Disney World Millennium Celebration featuring stunning entertainment spectaculars, unique special events, breakthrough technologies and fascinating exhibits from all corners of the globe.
