Harriss finally came to the part we had all been waiting for, the announcement of the 2000-2001 Disneyland Ambassador Team. Eddie Garcia, a Cast Member since 1995 who currently works in theme park operations was the first name announced. Applause and cheers rang out immediately and soon developed into the crowd chanting “Eddie, Eddie” led by Pluto.

As Eddie approached the podium he wiped a tear from his eyes and was given a big hug from Cynthia Harriss. She turned to the crowd and announced, “I’m glad that this is o.k. with everybody.” Doina Roman-Osborn was the next name announced. She has worked in the Disneyland Resort since 1996 and currently works in the Entertainment Operations casting office. She was received with similar fan fare including cheers. Harriss announced she was looking forward to working with them both.

Next the Omnibus rounded the corner and the finalists, the current and future Ambassadors and Cynthia Harriss boarded the vehicle and traveled to the castle where their first of many photo sessions took place.

Congratulations to Eddie and Doina. Dorell and Jennifer we wish you all the best in whatever path you choose next. We hope it will be a job where we will still be able to see you during our frequent trips to Disneyland. =)
