You're going to read all about the NFFC from other columnists here - I only
attended Saturday and Sunday. On Disneyland's birthday, I was teaching all
day, popped over to Disneyland for the LaughingPlace.com Vacation Hoedown, met
my secret pal, whom I love, and put lots of faces with names and then forgot
them, and will go back to arguing with them later. And Darkbeer looks like
Larry Tate from Bewitched. That's not a bad thing, Larry was cool. But Dr.
Bombay was a hottie!
After the party, I headed back to LTU for my first scrapbooking class - I had to
try it, it was Disney-themed. I think it turned out pretty good, for someone
who can barely handle scissors. When class was over, I was invited to the tail
end of the Perfect Martini class (I love LTU.) I learned to make a chocolate
martini, layered martini and sour apple martini and was just about to learn how
to make a lemon drop when I had to sit down.
After the Bruce and Dave Show Memories, Randall Baumberger spoke, then we had
lunch and watched a salute to Disney Legends Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Dave
Smith spoke first, showing a special from 1978 - imagine getting that caliber of
star to appear in a salute to Mickey these days! Then Wayne Allwyne and Russi
Taylor took to the stage, interviewed by NFFC President Jay Aldrich
after the room cleared, Wayne and Russi signed my scrapbook page and Mickey and
Minnie spoke to Alice on the phone, wishing her a speedy recovery. They don't
make nicer people than Wayne and Russi, I want you to know that. Room hopping,
my favorite sport, was fun this year, but the rooms were very spread out. I was
glad to hear, when I got to the top floor, that Paul F. Anderson's
Persistence of Vision Magazine will be re-launching this year. If you
haven't seen it, it's amazing. It's like three E-Tickets put together, but
about all aspects of the Disney company, especially its history. It's packed.
I can't wait.
The NFFC Show and Sale was amazing as well. Alice got a pink and blue
Imagineeringland flag for her bedroom wall and Margaret Kerry, Sam McKim, Rolly
Crump, Bob Gurr, Harriet Burns and Alice Davis signed it for her. Here's a
photo I like to call "Alice squared".
So, you who emailed today and those who have been emailing and asking, that's
