While at EPCOT take some time to stop by each country around World Showcase to catch the Holiday Storytellers. Whether it is the story of the Los Tres Reyes Magos in Mexico or the Monkey King in China or the various versions of Santa Claus at several of the other countries, it is a great way to hear about other countries traditions and cultures. Each Storyteller explains their tradition is a short 10 minute presentation and then will pose for pictures. It is a great way to take some interesting holiday photos to send the family. The highlight of Christmas at EPCOT is the lighting of the Christmas tree and the Lights of Winter that adorn the entrance walkway into World Showcase. The ceremony to light the tree includes synchronized lights, Christmas carolers and Cast in Bronze: the worlds only traveling carillon band as they ring out Christmas music. While other people tend to like the Magic Kingdom for it’s holiday decorations, EPCOT is my favorite park during Christmas. With the Candlelight Processional and the many variations on Christmas in World Showcase it really puts me into the holiday spirit. Add some hot chocolate and nice brisk night and I am ready for St. Nick to make his appearance at my house.
