Greg Hale: Thank you Paul. It is indeed an honor to be asked to lead this tremendous safety campaign. As Paul mentioned my team will initially be focused on attraction safety. One of the most critical advances of this campaign is to increase communication across our countless safety activities, many of which have in place for decades. To enhance this we’re going to improve the consistency and overall quality of our already world class safety program. The report on safety, which you now have, documents numerous initiatives and procedures, many of which are already underway.

Right now I’d like to take you through what is the most important of those processes. This graphic is an overview of the process we use to create and maintain the safety of Disney attractions. In your upper left every process begins with the blue sky concept, the smallest spark of an idea starts here and while there are many creative ideas floating through this blue sky process, the assessment for safety and feasibility begins at even this early stage.

The next phase is designed in engineering. Our attractions are designed to high standards by multi disciplinary teams with some of the latest techniques in safety technology. There are numerous reviews during this phase to ensure that technical and safety requirements are designed into our attractions. Once an attraction is designed then we go into manufacturing and production our quality assurance team carefully monitors the manufacturing process to ensure that our quality standards are met.
