If you are looking for an app that your kids will just adore, this is the one for you. I really like that, when I play this with my daughter, she knows the major plot points that you will come across from watching the movies. We chose to start with Tangled, which was not a disappointment. Each story starts with a brief review of the beginning of the story and then lets you take over. With the help of your Fairy Godmother, you learn how to earn new characters, complete tasks, and even earn new story moments. Finish all the tasks to create new spaces on your story blanket to make your living kingdom bigger and better!
The instructions from your Fairy Godmother are very clear, but she stays with you through the game in case you need help or get stuck. I really appreciated that there is a story button you can press to help you stay on track with what you need to do to advance — otherwise, I would have been a little lost. There are many tasks to complete and multiple characters to keep track of, so it does take quite a bit of time to complete each story available. In most cases, when you send a character to do a task, there is a time allotted to complete that task ranging from thirty seconds to a couple hours.
Overall, I thought this app was absolutely adorable and find myself going back over and over again hoping to continue building my story blanket. As expected, there are in-app purchases you can take advantage of by using real money to purchase diamonds to help you unlock tasks faster, but I found that in being willing to wait, I didn’t need to spend money.
