Red Rose Taverne at Disneyland Becomes Instant Hit

Red Rose Taverne

The Village Haus in Disneyland’s Fantasyland has been transformed into Red Rose Taverne to support the upcoming release of Disney’s live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. This is being billed as a limited time offering, but if the opening weekend crowds are any indication, expect it to stay around for quite some time.

Cast Members were telling guests that the wait to enter was over two hours when we visited last Saturday. We ended up waiting ninety minutes to enter the venue. The hot-item was the Red Rose Sipper Cup which lights up, but the Grey Stuff Gateau and the Lemon Rose Cake experienced periods of being sold out while we were dining.

The attention to detail was surprising for what is being billed as a limited time offering. There were unique details such as the Mrs. Potts tea set and the Lumiere candlestick hidden throughout the location.

I will be the first to admit that the Village Haus was not on my regular dining rotation, but the expanded menu brought some much needed enhancements that allowed the location to rise from its “theme park burger” beginnings.

I enjoyed the Chicken Sanwich à la Lumière, which was surprisingly tasty. The Grey Stuff Gateau lived up to its famous description as it was delicious. Don’t believe me?… You know what to do.
