Flashback Friday: Backstage at Magic Kingdom’s Rope Drop Show

Admittedly, one of the added touches that Magic Kingdom has over Disneyland lies simply in the way they open the park each day. While Disneyland’s rope drop finds guests lined up on Main Street, ready to speedwalk to their next destination as soon as the welcoming recording ends, the East Coast park starts off every day with a full-on show.

Back in 2012, Disney celebrated Leap Year with the One More Disney Day promotion that saw the park open for 24-hours on February 29th. On that very early morning, The Torres family were chosen to help the performers open the park. Thankfully, Attractions Magazine got the video they shot, which gives a unique backstage look at this magical morning tradition:

Pretty cool, huh?

So have you and your family ever been selected for this honor? Know people who have? Let us know!
