“The Spielers” Crowdfunding for Production Parodying Theme Park Attractions and Guides

Some of the best theme park attractions involve what are called “spielers” — cast members that interact with the ride and help add to the overall experience. After all, what would The Jungle Cruise be without Jungle Skippers?!

Now a crew of talented young thespians and other creatives is looking to celebrate this underpraised group with a new production called The Spielers, which is set to debut at this year’s Orlando Fringe Fest in May. The show’s creator, Bryan Jager — a former “spieler” himself — describes the production as an irreverent, action-packed parody of theme park rides. At the center of the story is an ancient temple turned attraction, but when things go terribly wrong, it’s up the spielers to save the day. Think The Goonies meets A Very Potter Musical and you can see what Jager and company are going for.

In order to help raise funds to make the show the best it can be, the crew behind The Spielers is crowdfunding with hopes of reaching their $10,000 goal:
