What’s Happening:
- CNBC has reported that the CDC has announced that Americans who are fully vaccinated can begin traveling again.
- The new guidelines set by the CDC specifically greenlights fully vaccinated grandparents being allowed to travel to see grandchildren.
- This will not lift restrictions for non-U.S. citizens from the United States who have recently been to China, Brazil, South Africa, and most of Europe.
- More than 1 in 5 adults are now fully vaccinated which is two weeks after getting the last vaccination shot.
International Travel:
- If you travel abroad, fully vaccinated Americans will not need to get a COVID-19 test unless required by the international destination.
- The CDC recommends getting tested when you return to the United States 3-5 days after travel, although self-quarantine is not needed unless required by a state.
- Along with the international travel changes, they do state that traveling overseas is not recommended due to the increase in cases.
