Last night, just before the world premiere of Magic Kingdom’s new nighttime spectacular, Disney Enchantment, Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Chapek and Executive Chairman Bob Iger took to the stage in front of Cinderella Castle for a special moment.

What’s Happening:

  • Last night, before the world premiere of the new fireworks spectacular debuting as part of the World’s Most Magical Celebration at Walt Disney World, Disney Enchantment, Disney CEO Bob Chapek and Executive Chairman Bob Iger appeared together on stage in front of Cinderella Castle and performed a special rededication ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort.
  • Chapek begins by sharing fond memories of his youth and attachments to the Disney brand while also thanking Cast Members for their hard work and dedication to the company. He then thanks Iger for his leadership before him, bringing in brands like Pixar, Star Wars, and 20th Century to the Disney Company.
  • Iger then gets a moment to speak, sharing the legacy of Walt Disney and how he never got to see the Florida resort, but that Roy continued on to make sure the dream was realized. He then shares his own memories at the park as a kid and with his kids and his grandkids, and what makes the parks great and so appealing.

  • The two then proceed to proclaim that Walt Disney World is now rededicated and together, press a large button that sets off a burst of color and light and fireworks.
