World of Disney Begins Transformation as New Stores Open in Florida and California

World of Disney stores at both Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs and the Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney began transformations. While both stores remain open during the work, both coasts opened new stores to make up for some of the lost space during the refurbishments.

Walt Disney World

World of Disney has begun its transformation with a construction wall in place. Inside the store, a curtain separates the open parts of the store with those that are being redone.

Meanwhile, Disney has opened The Disney Corner for a limited time in the Town Center section of Disney Springs. The two-story location features a selection of items for women and girls.

As part of the store’s opening celebration, Disney Springs has announced a promotion for each day through this weekend. Here is the lineup:

  • Thursday, February 15th: All day long, enjoy a cute-as-a-button special surprise with every Disney Corner purchase, while supplies last.
  • Friday, February 16th: Experience a karaoke-style princess sing-a-long, every hour on the hour.
  • Saturday, February 17th: Disney PhotoPass photographers will be roaming the store from noon to 4:00 p.m., capturing memories for guests willing to strike a pose.
  • Sunday, February 18th: Be surprised!

Disneyland Resort:

In California, World of Disney has also started construction. The closed entry doors give us a sneak peek of the location’s new logo.

Disneyland’s new store is Disney Home. Unlike the new store in Florida, this location is permanent and features home goods. The assortment will change seasonally.

Disneyland’s Downtown Disney is set to go through a major transformation with Splitsville set to officially open, Naples being renovated, and Black Tap Burgers & Beer opening. Other locations will be closing to make way for the Disneyland Resort’s fourth hotel.
