What on deck? More Haunted Mansion and an interview with a legend.

"When hinges creak in doorless chambers..."

30 years ago today my favorite Disneyland attraction, the Haunted Mansion, opened. In honor of the event, just as we did last week, you'll find many items this week relating to the Haunted Mansion. First up is this week's Trivia Contest. All the questions relate to Disneyland's Haunted Mansion and the prize is the wonderful 30th Anniversary Haunted Mansion CD. On Tuesday John Frost brings us an interview with Disney legend X. Atencio. X. wrote the script for the Haunted Mansion and he talked about that and his many other Disney contributions. And in case you missed it, both the first half and the second half of our coverage of the June 26th Haunted Mansion celebration at Disneyland are now online.

If you just can't get enough Haunted Mansion, there are a number of highly recommended Haunted Mansion sites on the web:
   • Foxx's Haunted Mansion page
   • Doombuggies.com
   • Jed's Haunted Mansion Page

Between these three sites you should find all the Haunted Mansion virtual tours, pictures, sounds, video, information, artwork and computer utilities you can handle.

Our first week of operation brought with it a couple of additions. We've added two new columns. Guest Relations by Chris Reed, is a humorous look at the world of Disney brought to you every Friday. The West Side of the Kingdom by writer Rick West of Theme Park Adventure Magazine will debut on Wednesday and appear the second Wednesday of every month.

We've also added the ability to customize the home page of LaughingPlace.com to show today's and tomorrow's hours from Disneyland and/or Walt Disney World. You can even have it show the Anaheim or Orlando weather report. You must be registered to active these features. If you're already registered, edit your profile to add the customizations.

We've received a lot of feedback this first week with some very helpful suggestions. We appreciate hearing from everyone about the site, both the good and the bad, so please keep it coming!
