A first class Broadway-type show with not a bad seat in the house...Genie, Aladdin, Jasmine and Jafar all come to life in this disney-magic stage show...best moments when the large elephant travels thru the audience and the magic carpet flys overhead.

I have NO idea how people can bash this production! They must be wearing their "grumpy pants"!! The cast and sets are fantastic! Most importantly, it is just plain fun! I have seen this show 6-7 times, and love it every time!

User ID: daneman007   Thrill: 4  Theme: 4  Overall: 4 (3/12/2007)
One of two genies always keeps the routine up to date, and keeps the audience going. Along with the special effects it wow's the audience every single time. I know of one lady who's seen the show some 700 times, and her being disabled, I cannot imagine a better way for her to spend her time, than with a fantastic group of performers, that put on a fantastic show!

Awful, awful, awful. This show is neither extreme spectical NOR good theatre. It's hard to believe a live version of the movie could be worse...but it is!

This is as good as a Broadway production (i have seen Lion King IN New York) Definately go see it! P.S. Genie is hilarious!

User ID: jtomyl   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (11/16/2006)
Loved the show...the genie was a riot!

User ID: LauraBella   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (7/15/2006)
Amazing for a free show with the price of admission! The genie steals the show, and I love that he is always changing his jokes to keep current. A must for anyone visiting DCA!!!

User ID: Melidef   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (5/4/2006)
Outstanding! I was worried that my husband would hate it since he & musicals don't mix but he loved it as well. Genie & Jafar were the best. Well worth the time!!

The best Stage show inside of a Disney Park i've ever seen. Disney can definitely make this a broadway show.

User ID: Raiseyourvoice   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: Unrated (10/20/2005)
I personally have not seen it but I know those who've been in it and it seems like it was an excellent show!

Not to mention those whom I know (Michael K. Lee who's Aladdin in the images, Deedee Magno-Hall who's Jasmine and Adealani Malia who's the magic carpet are among those shown here) are some of the nicest and most amazing people I've met.

Great show. Fun for the kids and a lot of jokes for the adults. Not just a regurgitation of the movie

I enjoyed it. It was very artistic.

Broadway production at DCA! Fresh and fantastic.

User ID: Disneygirl340   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (6/18/2005)
I would buy this on video ,if there was one. The genie is sooooooo funny, not to metion the carpet.I love the Prince Ali parade. It is fun, but probably the best part would have to be "A whole new world scene". That is worth the experience. I think you have to be older to catch the jokes, but it is a show for all ages. It is a blast. There are some intense parts for the younger kids ,but that is the lound noises. The last time to California Adventure was my first time seeing it, but when you go see it, you may have to sit in the theater for about 40 minutes, but it is worth every minute.

User ID: Disneygirl340   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (6/18/2005)
This is a show worthy of Broadway! Go see it.

User ID: FriendLikeMe   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (5/12/2005)
This is my favorite show at Disneyland. Why? Because of Jafar and of course...heeerrreeesss....GENIE!! Man, Genie really gets the theater laughing like crazy, and he really takes your mind off your sore feet. I mean, he brings the house down, just by making his first appearance. My favorite all time Disney tune, 'Friend Like Me' is performed as a 'Vegas' style show-stopping number, with dancing Genies and a chorus line down a stair way. The 'One Jump' sequence is up-beat, wih lots of extras running around. "Whole New World" is great, and the magic carpet sequence is spectacular. Always gets applause from the audience. 'Prince Ali' is also very nice, with lots of colorfull costumes and a life-size elephant suit, but the actual song is cut down for time restraints. This is a great show, and I heard that it will go on to Broadway after it leaves Disneyland. I hope a DVD is released soon!

BTW - CHEER FOR GENIE WHEN HE APPEARS!

I loved this show. All of the performers are very talented. Plus, it is a show that keeps you interested. There is so much to watch. And the sets are incredible.

this is for aladdinCRAZY....

first of all, aladdin and jasmine are arabian, which is pretty much partially asian. you are pretty pathetic. it shouldnt matter whether they were black white or asian, as long as the acting was good, which in my opinion was EXCELLENT. the energy was great, very upbeat, just wonderful. cant wait to see it again.

User ID: aladdinCrAzY   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 3 (1/21/2005)
This play was GREAT but for some reason the chinese thing didnt work for me. I mean seriously! Jasmine is supposed to be like not chinese and VERY beautiful (no offense fake Jasmine)and Aladdin! I mean come on!!!! Hes supposed to be handsome and have a great white manly voice that makes young girls think "WOW!". Yeah I just wanted to say that. Ooh wait! The bird looked horrible! It was like... hello ever heard of strings! Whats up with the guy! Yeah anyways... I thought it was GREAT! Sorry I didnt make it brief but how can I when I have soo many things to say! Yeah....... bye!

User ID: aladdinCrAzY   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 3 (1/21/2005)
(I am not aladdinCrAzY but a friend and here is what I thought)

I thought the show was very good, except for a couple of things. Aladdin and Jasmine are not supposed to be asian! I'm sorry but that ruined my whole view of the show. Other than that, it was wonderful, but consider changing your actors, because they are not asian in the movie. My friend thought so as well, so thank you for reading.

I love this show! Could watch it over and over and not grow weary of it.

User ID: aquarianglenn   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (10/8/2004)
OUTSTANDING! I had to see it more than once. The actors for Genie and Jafar are terrific. Disney should put this show on dvd.

User ID: mslpr55   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (8/8/2004)
Perfection!! A beautifully done, well-performed, Broadway-type show! Don't miss it!!!

I loved the show! The geanie makes a ton of referances to current events which makes it current and funny.

User ID: cwade   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (4/11/2004)
I love the show! It really is great. Also for those that say it isn't Broadway quality, you should know the show is now OFFICIALY on the Broadway Circuit, not Disney-Boradway Circuit, but the regular Broadway circuit.

User ID: alice n wunderland   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (11/5/2003)
I LOVE this show. I'm a performer and I can't get enough of it, I think the mechanics of this show are so creative.

"No Heart"? "Not that good"? "Few in our family liked it"? WHAT SHOW WERE THEY WATCHING? On a scale of 4, its definately a 5. Can't wait to see it the 6th time, and the 7th....

User ID: DisneyGuy115   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (6/9/2003)
The best show ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

User ID: morty   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 1 (5/27/2003)
Where are the Disney shows we used to enjoy? I went with my whole family (who are well versed in theatre) and only the youngest (5) enjoyed this

User ID: morty   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 1 (5/27/2003)
Thought it was good, Cave of Wonders was too scary though, and whole show was too loud at times

User ID: morty   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 1 (5/27/2003)
Hamburger needs her head examined if she thinks this is Broadway. The subjects still seem to find the emperor's finery intact, though

User ID: Crazy4Tubas   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (5/5/2003)
Dang that is the best show ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

User ID: michaels   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (5/1/2003)
Even at 35 I was fascinated by the show. Not good enough for Broadway but definately a "plus" for Disney.

Excelent

User ID: bzzltyr   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (4/29/2003)
Outstanding!!! Sets were unbelievable for a 40 min. production. Disney hit a home run with this. It should be taken on the road.

User ID: utahjosh   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 3 (4/29/2003)
Not quite broadway, not quite theme-park. It's a great show.

User ID: Chica   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (4/29/2003)
All spectacle and no heart. What a shame. Too many technical blunders to be called "professional."

User ID: luvlucy121   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 3 (4/28/2003)
Great Entertainment! Wonderful performers and true Disney-like scenery. The dance performances are well directed. But you may want to know the basic background of the story because the stage show doesn't cover the entire plot. Overall though it is a must see attraction at Disney's California Adventure.

User ID: disney5150   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (4/28/2003)
I loved the show. I've seen it with my children about 20 times.

User ID: moviela   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (4/28/2003)
Good laughs, great singing, but I like the carpets. The one in the costume is the best!

User ID: treelo   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (4/28/2003)
To be advertised as Broadway-caliber entertainment is an overstatement. I've seen community theatre productions with more heart. The vocals are so-so, and the show gets bogged down with badly scripted scenes and dialogue. I've never been to a Broadway show where the hero asks the audience, "Hey! Do any of you speak carpet?" The "Friend like Me" number, though, is great, and almost enough reason to recommend the show.

User ID: imbartalk   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (4/28/2003)
I thought it was a great performance by all involved. I've seen broadway shows before and this is much better than many I've seen although it doesn't compare to the great ones I've seen.

User ID: lemisfan   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (4/28/2003)
A very good show. Great theatre effects. Great cast. Genie was absolutely hilerous.

User ID: magic19   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (4/28/2003)
I think Aladdin is a great mix of comedy, effects, excitement and song. It has a lot of energy and vibe and really does a lot for DCA.

User ID: disneylover42   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (4/28/2003)
It advertises itself as a Broadway-caliber show, yet many elements are hokey and laughable. Vocally, though, the talent is wonderful. It is still a disappointment after Blast though.

User ID: ToonKirby   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (4/28/2003)
I expected a lot more from this show that it unfortunately did not deliver.
