This is my favorite spot in the park. The Animation Courtyard presents a beautiful and nostalgic tribute to everyone's favorite animated films. Be sure to visit Turtle Talk with Crush. It's a different experience each time based on audience participation. The Beast's Library is just amazing. Every fan of animation must visit this fascinating attraction.

Very fun to spend some time in here. You NEED to see "Turtle Talk" at least once. A must for fans of Disney movies and animation. Great for killing time.

Great place to see. Especially when lines are long on rides and it's hot out.

A lot of fun to look at, especially if you are an animation art fanatic... very cool....

We loved the Sorcerer's Workshop where we made our own animation. But try to beat the crowds. This area doesn't handle crowds well.

User ID: aquamoptop   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (3/15/2003)
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this attraction. Everything in here is what Disney is all about.

User ID: Joe Carioca   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (10/3/2002)
One of the best offerings at DCA. Love to take a break and watch the Animation Courtyard clips. I also love to check out Drawn to Animation every so often to see previews of the newest Disney flicks. Finally, the Workshop is a blast! Nothing like putting my voice to a Disney character!

I was Aladdin :)

User ID: geo1bar2   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (4/29/2002)
I stopped into this attraction at the recommendation from another park guest, and it was VERY NEAT! Most of my time was spent in the Sorcerer's Workshop. Some of the user-interactive machines were a bit crowded, but worth the wait. My kid and I sang a song from "The Jungle Book" and watched as our words were inserted into the scene, which was a blast!

User ID: TomSawyer   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (4/11/2002)
The Animation Courtyard is amazing, and seeing so many wonderful scenes from so many wonderful films was incredible. Don't miss this great tribute to the art form that built Disney.

User ID: DSNILSEN   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (3/29/2002)
Impressive lobby. The walt show brought a tear to my eye. But the rest gets boring after 3 or 4 times.

Lighten up! Some of you people think we from the Northwest live in covered wagons and shacks with no electricity. Taste your own medicin re stereotypes.

User ID: Alair Bear   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (2/5/2002)
This is my favorite attraction at California Adventure. Although the workshops are really interesting, I just love the Animation Courtyard. Every time I go there, I stand and watch the full rotation of all the animation clips. It's just amazing!

User ID: DisneyPrincess_96   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (2/5/2002)
it is one fo the best things in DCA! I could spend all day there...the Beast Library is the coolest! :)

GOod stuff. The design for the sorcerer's workshop is amazing. The animation courtyard is incredibly beautiful. You could just spend a whole day there and enjoy it all.

User ID: dennis-in-ct   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (2/5/2002)
This is the true hidden gem of this place. It is so good that it is almost worth the admission alone. I wish MGM would get some of this - we would be lucky.

User ID: indyxena   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (4/25/2001)
Loved entry screening room, nicely done. "Drawn to Animation" is a fresh new show that is very entertaining and informative for young and old. Beast's Library in the Sorcerer's workshop is a must, but be prepared for a wait. Ursula's Grotto voice dubbing is also fun but again may involve some time in line for a turn.

User ID: Butterfly1221   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 3 (4/19/2001)
It can be better all rides can be better. Weather there the best or the worst.

User ID: Corciopat   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (4/14/2001)
One of the best attractions in the park.

User ID: Futurist   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 3 (4/8/2001)
I keep trying to compare it to the WDW counterpart, but this second generation Animation Tour is so completely different. The courtyard is a great area to hang out within itself. 360 degree view of motion picture, and art stills towering above you, AWSOME! All areas are very entertaining with the Beast Library and Ursula's Grotto the best part for me.

User ID: gsvdave   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (4/5/2001)
Beautiful building, great attention to detail, much better than WDW version.

User ID: elf91303   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (4/5/2001)
This is a wonderfull tribute to Disney Feature Animation. The stuff in here is amazing. Especially the Beasts Library. Stay for the show. And do the books. And then just sit in the Lobby/Courtyard and marvel at the animation on huge screens that completly surround you.

User ID: Superstar Limo   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (4/5/2001)
Can easily get lost in the beauty of the courtyard. Marvelous. Sorcerer's Workshop really fun. Beast's Library is remarkable!

User ID: thestargirl   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 3 (4/5/2001)
The Courtyard is stirringly beautiful, but the variety of attractions makes for a mixed experience overall. We really could do for an updated animation film (rather than "Back to Neverland").

User ID: Jeff n Orange County   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (4/5/2001)
The Most "Disney" attraction you'll find in DCA. If you love the animated features you'll love this.

User ID: LydDis   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (4/5/2001)
I love this attraction. The Courtyard is beautiful. I didn't even mind standing in line because we were all singing along. I think the Beast's Library is one of the best parts. We all laughed really hard. And I found out I'm most like Jane. :)

User ID: Irishman4000   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (4/1/2001)
it is the best ride in the hollywood backlot the courtyard is amazing! A must see!

THIS ATTRACTION ROCKS!

Outstanding. The courtyard alone is breathtaking.

Entertaining and educational.

User ID: KevAct1   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 3 (3/25/2001)
This is a great attraction. While it isn'tt one of the best in DCA, it is still fun to find out what Disney character you are like, or add your voice to a Disney scene. Plus, it is a great place to go to beat the heat or rain.

User ID: keithles   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 3 (3/22/2001)
Capacity os too low, rooms are crowded.

User ID: Pullman   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (3/22/2001)
First thing we did at DCA! I could have spent all day in the lobby watching the show there! Fun in Beasts Library for whole family! Great to see Toy Story concept art done by friends!

User ID: disneykid52   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (3/19/2001)
Outstanding, appealing to all ages and people of all different interest levels relating to animation. Educational, inspirational and informative.
The courtyard show brought tears to my eyes, very inspiring to us aspiring artists.

User ID: MuppetVision   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (3/16/2001)
This is one of the best attractions in the entire park! It is very interactive and very fun, and you could spend hours in their. The Animation Courtyard is wonderful, and it makes you feel like your in the animated films. The shows in the attraction are very entertaining, and the Sorcerer's Workshop is a blast (especially where you can be the voices for Disney characters). Like Robin William says, being at Disney Animation is like "being in the prescense of Barbara Streisand."

User ID: DoodleDuck   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (3/10/2001)
Excellent!

User ID: keefelc   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (3/9/2001)
Wonderful pavilion! DCA's Animation attraction is a HUGE improvement over the original attraction at Walt Disney World, and that one isn't bad either!

User ID: JenniBarra   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 3 (3/9/2001)
Some of the sections were closed when we went, but I look forward to checking out the rest on my next trip. "Back to Neverland" is a cute film and it would be easy to spend hours playing in the Sorcerer's Workshop. It kind of makes me think of the fun I have had playing in the Image Works at WDW.

User ID: tsullivent   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (3/6/2001)
This is a lot of fun. You could spend hours playing around in this center.

User ID: gsvdave   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (3/1/2001)
A great attraction! Part of it's from The Magic of Disney Anamation, but who wants to go all the way to Florida to experience it, especially when there's more here!

User ID: musashi-2112   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: Unrated (2/26/2001)
I loved everything, but the Drawn to Animation area had my dad and I rolling on the floor. Really funny!

User ID: lindsy   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (2/25/2001)
Drawn to Animation was even better than WDW's version!

User ID: DSNILSEN   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 3 (2/24/2001)
Interesting attraction, that was informative and fun to explore

User ID: DSNILSEN   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 3 (2/24/2001)
Exciting , but boring for the young ones. Ursal's grotto is dark and a little scary to small kids.

User ID: dlport   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 3 (2/13/2001)
A lot of fun, even for folks who are not "interactive types" such as myself. The central courtyard is simply stunning, and both movies are great.

User ID: ni_teach   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (2/8/2001)
Just outstanding! One of the best things in the park, but be sure to leave an hour or more to explore the whole building.

User ID: scottbrust   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 3 (2/8/2001)
If you've taken the animation tour at Disney-MGM, you can go straight to the Sorceror's workshop, which is about the only thing here that isn't a Florida transplant. The Workshop is a lot of fun, and naturally has te longest line to get into. I most enjoyed penciling my own primitive cartoon for use in a spinning zoetrope. I also enjoyed adding my voice to animated sequences, but they chose scenes that include dialogue that's too fast to match your voice with!

User ID: carolann8   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (2/6/2001)
Fantastic! Animation Courtyard is Beautiful! Interactive stuff is done very well!!

User ID: WOLFCURIOSO   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (2/4/2001)
Superb! This place is a Disney fan's dream come true!

User ID: Irishman4000   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (2/4/2001)
Intresting pavillion which gave me a lot of insight on the subject of animation. I could spend about an hour there but didn't have the time

User ID: Nectarmaiden   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (2/4/2001)
Best time to go is late evening. BEAUTIFUL pre-show, castmembers friendly and willing to discuss animation.

User ID: boscal   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 2 (2/4/2001)
The courtyard is the best part of the exibit. Back To Neverland is funny, but old and recylcled from MGM Florida. Drawn to Anamation is nice.

User ID: KarenW2   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (2/2/2001)
Wonder-ful place to spend time, especially in the Sorcerer's Workshop. Hope they get a new film for Screening Room soon, we've seen it for years at WDW!!

User ID: Clopin   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (2/2/2001)
Loved it! Be sure to spend a lotta time in the Sorcerer's Workshop, there's a lot to see there. I had so much fun in Ursula's Grotto, both doing my own voices and watching others do theirs.

User ID: Weezy   Thrill: Unrated  Theme: Unrated  Overall: 4 (2/2/2001)
I loved Sorcerer's Workshop!
